Not before time. A ‘proscribed’ organisation. These agitators knew that yet still marched. 200 arrests. Good. If football supporters can be sprayed with marker paint stuff then why aren't these terrorist supporters? Make it red. They'll enjoy the irony. Then jail them.

Free the hostages. 🇮🇱

The elderly who are now being arrested and charged are only protesting because they disagree with the decision which seems to have been made after fierce lobbying by Elbit the massive Israeli arms manufacturers which has UK factories. I am guessing they will have threatened to pull out of the uk ….
That's fairly clear.

So, do you think the elderly who are now being arrested and charged are only protesting because they disagree with the decision and not protesting because of what is happening in Gaza?
Protesting against the UK Government?

So, sadly, what is happening in Gaza is being overridden by protests in favour of this group being taken off the proscribed list?

Yes eazybee , I hope they are fined , if our laws can be ignored then God help us

The elderly who protested knew perfectly well that PA was a proscribed Association for a number of reasons; they were deliberately breaking the Law.

Here we go indeed. I agree it’s depressing but disagree I have an agenda or bias. I don’t make things up and just look for the truth as best I can.

It’s all out there, some of it under freedom of information. Seek and ye shall find.

Oreo Thu 14-Aug-25 11:39:52

The truth is that PA have a history of violence and they have attacked and hurt police and security staff.

Oreo Thu 14-Aug-25 11:38:13

Allira

So are posters accusing Yvette Cooper and a huge majority of MPs of effectively being blackmailed into the decision to proscribe Palestine Action?

Yes they are, solely as it fits their agenda or bias.🤬

I am sure it was more than a factor. Trying to placate Israel and Israeli business in the uk , while acknowledging what israel does as unacceptable, is something of a tightrope walk for any government.
However Israel or any other country has no legal right to interfere in a different country’s governance, yet they do this with impunity.

Here we go.
Any excuse to diss anything to do with Israel.Should have expected it but it’s still depressing.
Victim blaming a perfectly legit business, but Ooh look! It’s run by Israelis.Who also happen to be Jews.

It certainly seems so

I hadn't picked up on the Elbit lobbying, silverlining but it's maybe a factor if they have been!

silverlining48 Thu 14-Aug-25 10:27:52

Criminal damage? yes of course ….. terrorists ? not so sure.

Clever tee shirt by the way.

There are incidents that are not available to the public as there will be a court case. They do say that Palestine Action is not a non violent organisation as they claim.

Another apology coming from BBC ?

Nothing to do with the BBC. There is a court case and some things will not be disclosed.
I think the full picture of what Palestine Action have done and are capable of will be revealed in court.
Hopefully they will remain proscribed.

Caleo, I’ve concluded it suits PA well to accuse the govt of being like a dictatorship. It is not

We can express our feelings about cruelty and genocide other than by supporting Palestinian Action.

My point is that to criminalise supporters of Palestinian Action is to embark on a slippery slope that leads eventually to police state

Anniebach Thu 14-Aug-25 08:45:36

Iam so true , Ronnie Biggs . And there was also The Krays !

Iam64 Thu 14-Aug-25 08:36:16

Thank you anniebach for that information. I’d not known about the injuries to police and security guards. I read comments blaming security, suggesting the activists strolled IN

My father was a police officer. He was always angry about the admiration, affection even, showed to the great train robbers. He believed the injuries caused to the train driver were simply ignored, as though it was just a jolly jape

The people who damaged the planes drove into Brize Norton in darkness on a moped and sprayed red paint from a loaded fire extinguisher into the bowels of the engine.

BBC NEWS
A repurposed prison van smashed through a security fence and crowbars and a sledgehammer were allegedly used to smash up equipment.

Three people were injured: a security guard and two police officers.

Anniebach Thu 14-Aug-25 04:02:08

Speaking out for the demonstrators and Palestinian Action is
Baroness Charkrabarti , no surprise !

Caleo, I’ve concluded it suits PA well to accuse the govt of being like a dictatorship. It is not

Because it is such an emotional subject, people are being persuaded by the rhetoric of P.A.

People have been marching in groups for a long time, there is no need to join, or march with, a proscribed group.

Caleo Wed 13-Aug-25 19:14:38

There are two messages from protesters:-

* concern that our country is become more like a dictatorship by making Palestinian Action illegal

* Cruelty and genocide in Gaza

Iam64 Wed 13-Aug-25 13:07:53

Thanks Oreo - this awful war needs cool heads not exaggeration
