Palestine Action activists guilty of criminal damage
BBC report
“Israel has faced mounting criticism over the 22-month-long war with Hamas, with UN-backed experts warning of widespread famine unfolding in the besieged territory.
On Tuesday members of an international group of former leaders known as "The Elders" for the first time called the war in Gaza an "unfolding genocide" and blamed Israel for causing famine among its population.
Following a visit to the Gaza border, Helen Clark and Mary Robinson, a former prime minister of New Zealand and a former president of Ireland, said in a joint statement: "What we saw and heard underlines our personal conviction that there is not only an unfolding, human-caused famine in Gaza. There is an unfolding genocide."

Oh well if the Guardian says it then it must be true!🤔
“Lies, damned lies, and statistics" is a famous phrase used to express skepticism about the manipulative power of statistics”
To be honest most of us don’t need those statistics confirmed, one look at Gaza now and how it has been levelled by heavy duty bombs would persuade most of us that there have been countless civilian fatalities, indeed I would imagine that 62,000 is a modest estimate, for there are thousands buried under mountains of rubble who have not been counted.
The final figure will probably be even more staggering, if it is ever known.
People in Gaza don’t have a protective dome or bomb shelters, or anywhere to run to, so to imagine that those statistics are a fiction is to fly in the face of what is starkly and insupportably a heinous reality.

guardian reporting that IDF data show that 83% of people killed are civilians.
They more or less agree with the figures produced by Gaza

I didn't think foreign journalists were allowed into Gaza
And The Guardian😄

Produced by Gaza means figures produced by hamas.
Much trust in Hamas

Shameful. Utterly shameful.😞
The total Hamas killed to date was just over 8000
I can well believe those figures. The excuse that many were Hamas was a lie.

So why bring that up when we are discussing a man who clearly is a survivor? The implication was that he was just someone in Hungary not a survivor.
Tell us how you would decide who is a survivor?
I didn’t disagree, I just included all who lived in Europe at that time and asked were they all Holocaust survivors

As a young child he was separated from his family, he lived with the risk of being discovered, his father was in a concentration camp. I don't think he needs to justify his qualification as a survivor to you or anyone else.
Good grief, so aggressive, I asked because it certainly increases the number of Holocaust survivors , all I said of the man was “he has written a book and given many tv interviews “

I don't understand the point you're making Annie. Are you claiming that Stephen Kapos doesn't understand the Holocaust or the effects of anti-semitism?
Just asking , is every Jew in Europe at that time a Holocaust survivor?

Very moving to listen to Stephen Kapos a holocaust survivor on GMB. He said what Gazans are experiencing now mirror what happened in the holocaust and said what is happening is genocide. He seemed an amazing man who has suffered so much.
Particularly moving when Adil Ray got up and put his arms round him.He is not alone, have heard that other holocaust survivors see similar painful parallels.
Well done to Stephen Kapos for speaking out, it can’t have been easy.
This is a long interview, but the first few minutes are worth watching:

You’ve lost me there Annie.
Who is saying every Jew in Europe was a holocaust survivor?
I read the following-
My parents, in contrast, had no interest in Israel. After the Second World War, they remained in Hungary, joined the Communist Party and lived professional lives influenced by left-wing, anti-racist views. Contact with family in Israel was rare (and considered risky in Stalinist Hungary), and they thought them strange.
Born in Budapest in July 1937, I was separated from my parents and hidden as a child under the Swiss Red Cross and Hungarian Protestant church, which saved over 2,000 Jewish children. My mother was in a girl’s place and my father, a doctor, was part of the Kasztner train project but never reached Switzerland – Hitler discovered the plan. He was held in Belsen as a hostage, not an inmate, and was allowed to act as a doctor. He saw people beaten to death and frozen bodies stacked like logs. Like the Palestinians today, I experienced fear and destruction all around.
