I’m sorry, my tech skills don’t extend to links. Trump in a speech says black children, they’re hard core, natural born killers, criminals
I saw this on Facebook, was so shocked I fact checked and saw a video confirming this.
Oh No

I agree Iam64 that the implication of Trump's words were that black Americans have a greater propensity for crime and violence than white Americans. However, it is giving ammunition to those that support him to mis-report his words. The things he says demonstrate what he is - an aggressive, power-hungry, mysoginistic and racist man - and they do not need any embellishment.

No that’s correct Reka, as I said in my O.P the clip I heard did not record Trump using the phrase black children,

It does seem like splitting hairs not to acknowledge that he was talking about a predominantly black neighbourhood, so fleeing the prejudice that black Americans are more criminal and violent than whites

If you look at SNOPES, a factcheck site the alleged comment is wrongly attributed.

While Trump did make comments about some people who were "born to be criminals" during a Sept. 2, 2025, briefing — specifically after referring to recent federal actions in Washington, D.C. — he did not explicitly mention Black children or use the phrase "natural born killers," as social media posts claimed.

Obviously President Trump has never looked at the statistics of serial killers in the USA. Research shows most serial killers are in fact white males.

That's due to the fact there's a lot more white people than black in USA

Iam64 Tue 09-Sept-25 20:04:33

Trump’s comments on the people in a largely black area, were inflammatory.

“They’re hard core, never going to be good. In ten years, in twenty years and two years, they’re going to be criminals, they were born to be criminals”

My initial fact check confirmed he said this. Later reports say he was talking about the children in a largely black, deprived area.

Is this acceptable from the Potus.,

Kandinsky Tue 09-Sept-25 16:04:43

Did he actually say ‘black children are natural born killers’ as in all black children all over the world?
I very much doubt it.

What an extremely inflammatory thread to start

Eloethan Tue 09-Sept-25 15:54:18

petra I'm not sure what you mean.

petra Tue 09-Sept-25 08:18:04

It seems some members have hearing problems or hearing the rhetoric they expect or want to hear.
This is exactly how riots ( Southport) start.

This is an interesting discussion around this topic - which was basically, it seems to me to be a way of justification of using troops whilst at the same time seeding more division.

It's the transcript of a podcast by the way:

Trump’s Rage Over Fresh Legal Loss Takes Menacing New Turn
As Trump seethes at a court ruling that his occupation of L.A. was illegal, former federal prosecutor Barbara McQuade explains why the ruling was so on point—and why his response signals a frightening escalation.

It has a fuller quote and unpacks it a bit.

Well, Nigel Farage worships Trump, and he and his followers are mimicking everything Trump does

Eloethan Mon 08-Sept-25 19:23:13

It is alleged that Trump's words had been edited on the video and that what he said was:

"We took many people off the streets of Washington DC. They are hardcore, they are not going to be good in 10 years, in 20 years, in 2 years. They are going to be criminals - they were born to be criminals."

There was no specific reference, in this very brief extract, to Maryland or black people - but then it isn't the entire speech so it's difficult to say for certain that such matters weren't implied or words used.

In any case, I don't agree that people are "born to be criminals". I do believe that there are things in their lives that have led them towards criminality - not necessarily poverty or prejudice (though I wouldn't think those elements can be excluded) but perhaps, in addition to material deprivation, a lack of emotional support and guidance. Assuming that certain groups of people are naturally destined to be dangerous criminals will, in my view, be likely to be self-fulfilling.

Thanks Oreo
I wish ‘the leader of the free world’ had more Jed Bartlett, less used property developer and associate of dodgy snake charmer characteristics

He says such inflammatory ignorant things. It’s like the emperors new clothes. Surrounded by people to scared to correct him

Am not surprised in the least, we seem to be living in an era when prejudices and hatred are becoming political currency.
Dark roads that lead to darker times ahead I’m afraid.

I agree

I wonder how black people who voted for him feel now.

I'm wondering what Barack Obama is thinking right now!!
😲

Trump has no filter, he opens his mouth and outrageous crap comes out.
sassenach DH calls it 'verbal diarrhoea'.

Whitewave - I did fact check and saw various videos of Trump - I didn’t see him say black children but. He was referring to the black area of town
Is it untrue ?

He actually said some black people in Washington DC are born to be criminals.Washington DC is the murder capitol of the US I once read ( not sure of the truth of that) with black gangs aplenty.
What he meant exactly we don’t know.If you’re born into a poor area, have no role models and are easily sucked into gangs then there’s an element of truth to what he said, but there was no need to mention colour, white boys are in gangs and become involved in crime too.
As usual he says the wrong things.

True Maremia.

Maremia Mon 08-Sept-25 11:40:10

Yes, Homestead62, but when did he ever rely on facts?

Maremia Mon 08-Sept-25 11:39:09

Well, ronib, he surrounds himself with young, mostly blonde, good looking women. Denigrates older ones, 'not my style', so you could be right.

westendgirl Mon 08-Sept-25 11:18:52

It's more than worrying to learn of such things, and then we have Farage, hanging on to Trump's coat tails , trying to cause dissension in this country.

ronib Mon 08-Sept-25 10:15:19

Grannies

Maremia Sun 07-Sept-25 16:48:34

I hope it's untrue. But if so, he has already gone against the latinos, the gays. Which non white Christans will be next?

Whitewavemark2 Sun 07-Sept-25 16:20:59

I have just written on the migration post.

This is the latest outrageous lie which will stick with those way down the rabbit hole of moral panic.

It will become yet another meme which will add the toxicity of debate around division and hate.

silverlining48 Sun 07-Sept-25 16:00:16

The world is a dangerous place and I dont remember being so frightened since the 1950s and 60 s. The populist leaders of so many countries have huge egos, few brains and too much power.
Reform given the chance, will bring us into that same category.
Farage clone of Trump, waits on the side, freely admitting none of his party have any political experience, and despite only 4 MPs, he is convincing many that he will be this country’s saviour. It’s laughable, if it wasn’t so scary.
