Ghislaine Maxwell has had her appeal rejected by the US Supreme Court meaning her 20 year sentence remains unless overturned by a Presidential pardon.

OOOOOOOOOOOO!
And that autobiography is coming out soon.

Smileless2012 Mon 06-Oct-25 15:58:57

Could he possibly be that stupid?

Casdon Mon 06-Oct-25 16:01:27

Can he give her a presidential pardon before he leaves office himself?

Smileless2012 Mon 06-Oct-25 16:05:54

Yes he can Casdon. He can pardon a federal crime but not a state one.

Casdon Mon 06-Oct-25 16:10:11

In that case, I think he may do, it depends what he has promised her for her silence I guess. The gamble is that if further information comes out via the diary releases he will be between a rock and a very hard place.

Surely even Trump can see that if he does, it's an admission of his own guilt?

Galaxy Mon 06-Oct-25 16:50:30

Are we now getting cross about things he might do.

Maremia Mon 06-Oct-25 16:51:33

We're just getting ahead of his games.

Galaxy Mon 06-Oct-25 16:52:18

Predictions around Trump usually tend to be inaccurate

Maremia Mon 06-Oct-25 16:55:58

Yes, he is totally mental and unpredictable, but it's Gransnet and we do what we do.

Galaxy Mon 06-Oct-25 16:58:39

No I mean people usually get it wrong, that's why they thought Kamala would win.

Chocolatelovinggran Mon 06-Oct-25 17:23:56

She has been moved to a more congenial establishment, I understand.

Predictions around Trump usually tend to be inaccurate

I’d say the opposite, I’d say that unfortunately the predictions have been too often accurate. He has definitely lived down to my expectations so far anyway.

LemonJam Mon 06-Oct-25 18:47:59

Smileless, I absolutely agree with you- it would be stupid and would easily interpreted as an admission of guilt.

However he's proved he can unpredictable and also is capable of stupidity... He has also went on to win a second term as a convicted felon....

Well this is the latest attempt to prevent the files being released!

How is it that she was sentenced to 20 years in prison, yet in Britain, we have all these so-called 'Grooming gangs' guilty of exactly the same crime still walking free?

Allsorts Fri 10-Oct-25 07:21:50

Grooming gangs are disgusting they ruin their victims life for ever. Lock them away for as long as possible but working for their keep, thats too good for them.

Allsorts Fri 10-Oct-25 07:26:13

It seems anything possible in America now, Trump doesn't have rules.

windmill1 Fri 10-Oct-25 11:33:54

Well, now he's lost out on this year's Nobel Peace Prize he could jump in any direction in pursuit of vengeance.

NotSpaghetti Fri 10-Oct-25 12:15:32

I think that might also be timing windmill.
I think the negatives he's responsible for should preclude him - but if peace holds till next year in Gaza... who knows?
