13 jobs Farage
(63 Posts)So Farage has at last submitted his earnings. (Last time was May). He apparently has 12 other jobs apart from being an MP and is the highest earning MP . Up to this July he reportedly earned over £1.2 million from outside jobs. (Twice the next highest earner, Rishi Sunak). No wonder he hardly bothers visiting his Clacton constituents or attending parliament.
I agree with the Posters saying all MP taxes should be declared. Could be made into part of the contract.

^Chamber 69 of the Tribunal de première instance, a Brussels court specialising in financial crime, is due to make its judgment on November 5.^
‘Nigel Farage’s partner is embroiled in a criminal investigation involving allegations of fraud at a Eurosceptic group that she ran when they were both working in Brussels.
Laure Ferrari served as executive director of the Institute for Direct Democracy in Europe (IDDE), a think tank based in the Belgian capital, when auditors refused to sign off spending of hundreds of thousands of euros of public funds in 2016.
The European Commission anti-fraud unit spent years investigating the organisation, and an affiliated parliamentary group of which Ukip was the biggest party, before handing the case onto local law enforcement.
Chamber 69 of the Tribunal de première instance, a Brussels court specialising in financial crime, is due to make its judgment on November 5.
Ann Lukowiak, a spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor, confirmed it would be a “final judgement where appeal will be possible”. She would not say which individuals were under investigation, or what sanctions were being proposed, citing confidentiality’.

Thanks for the link PaynesGrey, I wasn't aware of this story and look forward to judgement on November 5.
It made me think of the parallels to The Reform Party think tank here in the UK- i.e. Reform Research Trust, first registered as a charity on 4 March 2004 then also as a Ltd company at Companies House on 13 May 2004. Has been renamed to RE:State in May 2025.
Re:State wants to Re:imagine the State, Re:imagine the Local State, Re:imagine Whitehall, Re:Imagine Health- i.e. DISRUPT the current status quo, tax and welfare. Liz Truss was a former director - her reimagining didn't get very far!
Also I wonder at the parallel with Reform, the Ltd company set up and owned by Nigel Farage originally as the Brexit Party, this year renamed Reform 2025 Ltd. Who knows how much money Farage made giving up ownership of his majority shares this year in February to "professionalise the party" and so Farage could then publicly say Reform is now "non-profit, with no share holders and limited by guarantee"? His shares were estimated worth £million +
What is now built into Reform 2025 Ltd constitution is an agreement can be made to remove Reform's leader Farage in a no-confidence vote, but only if 50 of them or 50% of 100 Refrom MPs writes to the chairman requesting one. But there are only 5 Reform sitting MPs currently! So Nigel is unassailable as leader until there are 100 or more Reform MPs. voted in- he has unassailable authority in his party until then.
Opaque financial and power play dealings....

Not sure if this is relevant, and couldn't get beyond the headline, of The Times, on Facebook, but read that Farage's girlfriend is implicated in a 'fraud' in Belgium.
We now know that Reform's bold claims about tax cuts are going down the toilet, with Reform Councils RAISING them.
So much for Farrago's fag-packet policies.
Oh, any actual or would-be Reform voters, DO have a thought for Nigel's desire to send anyone with a brown skin back to where they or ancestors came from. We had to visit the NHS recently, that policy would shut down the NHS within a day, without those doctors, nurses, and the massive amount of ancillary staff.
Yup MayBee70.

So will he move to Abu Dhabi to avoid taxation? mokryna. Maybe Dubai?
You mean to join his mate Tice and his girlfriend? Oh sorry, that’s Dubai…
As his absenteeism was so high he shouldn’t get any.

When Farage turns 63 he will claim his EU annual pension of £73,000.
Nandalot do you know if his constituents are complaining ?
Oreo
Well the more he earns the more tax he’ll pay into the coffers.
There’s usually a silver lining.😄
If only. One suspects that a shyster of his type is offshoring everything. In one of his gigs he became a “company” with one employee. Him. That reduces the tax bill. 🤮
I don't think MPs should have another job, They are there to serve the people. All their time should be spent on being an MP
My daughter lives in Norway, where the tax returns for everyone are available. for scrutiny
Remind me never to emigrate to Norway.
Tax is a legalised form of theft.

All good, these big earners are what pay for everything. The top 2% pay half of all the taxes.
Income taxes aren't the only taxes. Over all wealthy people pay a lower percentage of their income in direct and indirect taxes than do the bottom 10%.

I would be very pleased to see MP's tax returns being made public.

"Would you back a rule that all MPs published their tax returns so we could see if they are meeting Nolan Principles? I wouldn't vote for Farage if he was the only candidate, I would have to spoil my ballot, but I doubt he's the only slippery eel in parliament".
I would definitely back a rule that party leaders ( and possibly all government cabinet) publish their annual tax returns. Starmer has, Sunak did when PM, as did Angela Rayner and Rachel Reeves in April 2025.
I’m looking forward to the Committee on Standards making Farage apologise to Parliament as Johnson had to do.

Farage still hasn’t declared all his earnings. Read Don McGowan on X who is as Peter Oborne was to Johnson - keeping the recipts of the deceits.

Talking of jobs. How are Reform councillors doing? Byline Time are keeping the receipts on that. This is the calibre of candidates we can expect next GE.

All of this adds costs to find a replace. So much for DOGE.
Nana8- I agree it does feel like 'Farage, Farage, Farage'.
We all have the option of ignoring any politician in the news or can choose to challenging some of the things politicians in the media say and do.
As Farage seeks to promote himself, is very successful at attracting attention to dominate the media, portrays himself as a "truth teller" who denigrates others, I choose to be in the latter camp, so I can decide whether I trust him or not...
It is for the electorate to decide whether Farage acts selflessly, with integrity, objectively, with accountability, is open and honest. I suggest he should publish his annual tax RETURN each year until the next GE to openly declare how much tax he has saved/avoided and how close/far away he is from meeting his MP ethical standard obligations. He can dish it out after all....

It’s getting a bit boring now- Farage Farage Farage - no wonder he is doing well. I am sick of hearing about him.
Nandalot is absolutely right- Farage is using his personal services private company to reduce his tax bill. Thus all the income he pays into this company he draws down as a dividend that attracts 25% corporation tax AFTER he has offset and deducted "expenses". All earnings over £50,270 attract 40% tax payable and over £125,140 attracts 45% tax payable so his Ltd company arrangements are saving Farage significant sums of money.
He makes £94,000 a year as an MP, his GB news earnings are over £400,000 a year and has further earnings above these 2 jobs... some of which, particularly in the US may be paid as "expenses" to his personal services company it is alleged. We don't know for sure as he has has declined to publish his tax returns when asked....
He has criticised people who have tried to avoid tax in the past as "the common enemy" yet aside from his personal services company so he can reduce his tax payable he also set up a trust fund in an offshore haven. I have no idea how that interacts with his personal services company for further potential personal financial benefit.
His personal services limited company is called "Thorn in the side" (how he likes to see himself?) and it also owns 2 investment properties that in themselves generate additional income.
Farage also set up as a limited company (with him owning the majority of shares at that time) The Brexit Party Ltd in 2018, changed name to Reform UK Party Ltd until 16 May 2025 now known as Reform 2025 Ltd. Was worth around £2.6million up from £2m in 2021, growing exponentially. Farage handed over significant control of his LTD company he has now relinquished significant control of this Ltd company to the Reform Party, but I have no idea how much money Farage may have been paid for his major shareholding for him to agree to this.
He is a rich man by any accounts, which is not in any way a crime. However The Nolan Principles of Public Life (ethical standards all MPs required to adhere to ) mean that Farage, and must be selfless and act SOLELY in terms of the public interest. He should not act or take decisions in order to gain financially or for other material benefits for himself in his MP role.
It is one thing to publish his earnings that is only a starting position.
