Sometimes in life, all we have left is hope. When hope goes we have nothing. I know because when my son died I lost hope for several years. Thankfully, recently hope has returned and my life is better for it.

Hope is the only thing that has kept me going at difficult times of my life. I imagine hope is all that keeps the people going when they are living through desperate times brought about by a cruel war.

Absolutely.

But what a lot is resting on that word

I don’t believe that hope is ever a burden, far from it.

I have taken this title from the observer this morning, as I think that those 4 words completely encapsulates, how absolutely everyone must be feeling.

Hope for peace
Hope for food
Hope for medical aid
Hope for loved ones returning home
Hope for statehood
Hope for reconciliation
Hope for justice
Hope for truth

So much rests on hope - what a burden it carries.
