Breaking news is that Andrew will now be Andrew Mountbatten - Windsor, his title is no longer, and he will move out of Royal Lodge.

His downfall is total. Even though I think he’s an entitled chump, I fear for his mental health with all this constant hounding by the media.

I agree with the above. I also think this saga has gone on too long.
The allegation was he slept with Virginia, sorry I can't remember her surname, when she was 17, in the USA that was not the legal age , in the UK it is 16. I can't understand why he denied it.
I get the impression he is arrogant and a bit if a fool.

Ah yes, the man who paid millions of pounds to a young lady he "never met" for something he "never did" is no longer royalty

My royalty approval rating has risen a great deal

‘Sources Close To’ will tell the press what time he eats lunch ! The Mirror informed the world how The Princess of Wales was shuddering’ , a few weeks ago she took her children to see the filming of the new Harry Potter filming site, yes she shuddered because Andrew was there with his grandchildren, eldest age 4 ! she didn’t meet him

How difficult for his staff who will now have to call him Mr Andrew. I think I would find it hard not to giggle.

Mollygo Thu 30-Oct-25 23:23:05

I suppose he'll have to do his own cleaning and cooking now, unless anyone is daft enough to work for him.

I’m sure that’ll be sorted.
Who will do the tell all if no one will work for him?

Allira Thu 30-Oct-25 23:19:11

I'm feeling sorry for any estate workers who may be lumbered with him as a neighbour.

Why not fear for his mental health? So many stories on different subjects where those hounded or who feel badly treated, have committed suicide.
And so many people, if GN is to be believed, who will carry on hounding him and the rest of his family.
I’m not condoning what he’s accused of doing. I don’t know what he knew or didn’t know, did or didn’t do. I don’t know who is telling the truth and who isn’t.
Will the thread reach 40 pages do you think?

It must have been very difficult for the King, I think he has shown strength in doing the right thing. He and Andrew illustrate just how different siblings can be, Charles was a shy and diffident child, Andrew bumptious and full of himself from his earliest years and seemingly a trait that was never reined in. The speculation had been when he finally exited the Royal Lodge he would be moving into Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate, but they obviously want him further away in Norfolk, even if they are all gathered there for Christmas. Wonder where Sarah is going to live now? The body language of the royals towards Andrew when they were gathered for the late Duchess of Kent's funeral certainly spoke volumes.

but they obviously want him further away in Norfolk, even if they are all gathered there for Christmas.

I think the estate is about 20,000 acres, Terribull, so there should be no problem finding some old cottage in a remote part of the estate.

Andrew is persona non grata, the spectre at the feast banished. What will he do in Norfolk? Maybe write his own memoir? Now that would be interesting but unfortunately who would know if it was true or not. That aside he will have plenty of time for quiet contemplation. Years gone by the King would have clapped him in the Tower at best.

Seems a lot of ignorance as to why Charles has rightly done this. It may just be too little too late, many are now so thoroughly disillusioned with the monarchy it's going to be hard for them to recover.

I agree it’s too late.

It feels as though they miscalculated with last weeks news of not using the titles. They must really be feeling the force of public sentiment.

Anniebach Thu 30-Oct-25 22:49:28

Yes eazybee

Bukkie Thu 30-Oct-25 22:41:45

eazybee - You are so right, what a sad situation all round.

eazybee Thu 30-Oct-25 21:06:37

She said.
He said.
Who knows?
All those lives wrecked.

Smileless2012 Thu 30-Oct-25 21:03:11

They aren't in a mess OldFrill, Andrew is.

Status and/or money is no guarantee of stable mental health.

Smileless2012 Thu 30-Oct-25 21:02:00

If it's true yes it is a crime Bukkie and will need reporting to the authorities so a criminal charge can be made and then be tried in a court of law.

Bukkie Thu 30-Oct-25 20:44:27

Smileless- I know it was only on the Channel 5 programme but Victoria Roberts said she was forced to sleep with Andrew three times against her wishes when she was only 17. Isn't that a crime?

Know him personally do you?

Entitled is an interesting read.

I think he is more than an entitled chump. I think many members of the RF turned a blind eye. Reading the body language Prince William and his wife seem to have little time for fools.

Worry about his MH? not really

Worry about a 2 or 3 year waiting list to see CAHMs, yes.

Lomo123 Thu 30-Oct-25 20:37:05

Probably more to come out. Don't think he, ll be short for money!

eazybee Thu 30-Oct-25 20:27:31

It's more like a Greek tragedy.
It is hubris that has brought Andrew down.

ronib Thu 30-Oct-25 20:24:48

But is he under house arrest? Can he get up and go to stay in Abu Dhabi for example?

He'll be fine.

Grandma70s Thu 30-Oct-25 20:15:29

Shakespeare could have written a great soliloquy for King Charles, along the lines of “To be or not to be” - to spurn or not to spurn?

ixion Thu 30-Oct-25 20:05:44

Sandringham?

He'll be able to put the Hoover round before the family come for Christmas.
