You only have to read about people including VG feeling isolated, or feeling it’s all too much. When the suicide of a young man (ex-pupil) was announced in the press, his sister reported that he had said there was “no way out of this mess and nothing to live for”.
By some accounts, VG was terminally ill
"They’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology.”
Then she accused her husband of abuse.

These things don’t excuse Andrew if he’s guilty of what he stands accused, but his actions did not directly contribute to her death.

Several people have already pointed out that VG's suicide took place against a very broad background of a life , parts of which, at least were highly abusive. Initially allegedly there was sexual abuse during childhood by a family member or friend. Latterly and over the entire span of her marriage this abuse seems to have included domestic violence allegedly dished out by her husband from whom she was separated.
There were a lot of bad ingredients in the recipe. Andrew seems to have been one of them.

Any Radio 4 "Today" listeners will have heard a useful explanation of the legal position. I understood them to say that any interview ( regardless of the geography [UK by digital link or travel to USA] with the US Senate must take place under the aegis of a sworn oath by Andrew. Notwithstanding that Andrew would accordingly have the legal benefit of the 5th amendment, if he were to lie under oath and be proven to have done so that would be perjury.
Perjury would be a criminal offence and any criminal charge would open up the possibilities of extradition to the US and prosecution for a criminal offence in the US.
Any decent adviser would therefore advise Andrew not to touch the possibility of speaking to the Senate with a twenty foot disinfected bargepole.
The relevant Senate committee really don't expect him to take the bait.
After government functions resume in the US , a female democrat is to be sworn in (as Senator?) and she will enable the release of further Epstein documents that will let many more cats out of the bag.
That's presuming that the Epstein documents still exist in an examinable state. Someone got Epstein killed. Could they get to some documents ? Only sayin'.....

In normal circumstances, I suspect that Andrew does not fit the profile for suicidal tendencies but the backlash from this has taken every thing he valued so I think, intelligent or not, everyone has a breaking point. We don't often agree about he RF, Anniebach, but I agree with you here.

I quite agree Anniebach. Indeed on the contrary, I would say that AMW is in significant danger of mental health problems.

He is not a man with any inner resources. more intelligent people, and some less intelligent, will have private passions and hobbies, gardening or postage stamps (like George Vth), or archaeology (Queen Magarethe of Denmark), but AMW seems to have only golf and that is very much a sociable game, played with friends.

He seems to be very much a person who, despite being arrogant and entitled needs always to be in company, which is what made him so vulnerable to mixing with the Epsteins and dodgy people of this world, who knew exactly how to cultivate people like him and how to exploit them.

Life alone in Sandringham, with few local friends and no way of occupying himself could be very dangerous for his mental health.

It might have been wiser to provide him with a home where his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson could also live.

What an utterly bizarre thing to say (Vine, that is)! Suicidal ideation can affect anyone at any time and really isn't a joking matter. I think what you said is often very true, Anniebach - not wanting to die, but not wanting to live either.

Iam64, define "a lot of time". Lots of the people he seem to have called 'friends', by virtue of the long distance between him and where he lived, can't have spent a lot of time with him so maybe they wouldn't have been aware of his proclivities. My point is that we don't know how deep within his despicable proclivities various people were.

I doubt AMW will respond by agreeing to go to America, or be interviewed on line. Having said that, he was arrogant enough to believe the Emily Maitlis interview went well for him.

I don't think the Americans can try Andrew for his financial dealings. It is 'just' his involvement with Epstein that is under US jurisdiction, AFAIK.

If he names names, then I think they will have to be called to account, or there would be no point in Andrew giving evidence.

Paedophiles within families, schools, sports can fly under the radar icanhandthemback. Epstein and Maxwell made no attempt to hide. The Florida investigation and conviction was initiated by Epstein’s neighbours in Florida. They shared concerned about the numbers of yiung adolescent girls visiting the property throughout the day.
It’s all recorded in a documentary Filthy Rich, the author James Patterson was involved in getting police involved and in the documentary.

As I think I have already said. Epstein and Maxwell have been found guilty so those are proven facts in a court of law. I just hope Maxwell remains in prison.

The US needs to look at the beam in their own eye before they start inspecting the speck in A’s eye.

If they really want him to testify then they should call up their own shower first.

It doesn’t really matter about the UK. He’s already been judged and found guilty by the media as evidenced on here.
But once you move overseas, there must be more under scrutiny than just Andrew. It’s just easier for the US to chase one person, especially with the ardent support of the media over here.

I do not think these Democrats on this committee are dodging. They would give anything to have those files released. I do believe they are trying to use AMW as a stepping stone to get around the fact that those files may never be released. Any information they can glean from Andrew that could help determine if Trump is on the list would be a good thing for them.

It is all going to come out eventually. Someone somewhere knows everything and they will eventually talk about it. And once someone pulls that particular thread, it will unravel quickly.

The more information that comes out via reports and leaked emails, the closer we get to someone wanting/needing to save their own butts and wanting to talk to Congress about it.
