I wonder what their motive was?

Those poor people who were attacked. sad

kittylester Sun 02-Nov-25 11:13:17

Agree eazybee.

kittylester don't forget that other countries knew about Mrs Simpson long before the GB public did. Australians may well be better informed than us. Of course social media is international and eg that's why I heard that one of the attackers was a black man dressed in black. Police will only say he's a British national but what does that mean these days!?

There was no SM in Mrs Simpson's day and the British press was 'suppressable' way back then.

Different times

Ok,
…….‘I’ve just stabbed you, possibly to death, but don’t worry, there’s a really good hospital 5 minutes down the road’

Yep. Point taken.

What is wrong with you?

I am sure most people would be thankful that they were close to a brilliant hospital if they were involved in any incident. Time is of the essence in horrific events like this - surely you can see that.

Nanna8 lives in Australia AFAIK.

Her posts frequently make it clear that she views the UK (her country of birth?) in a very dim light.

She often ‘appears’ to know more about life in the UK than those of us who actually live here🤷‍♀️

Thanks LizzieDrip. I'm not as mixed up as I thought smile

Thinking about it, I would say that for once 'lessons have been learned', following Southport. Information is released quickly about the age, ethnicity and origin of perpetrators of recent murders and attempted murders; other details follow later.

Kandinsky Sun 02-Nov-25 11:07:29

They are a 32-year-old black British male and 35-year-old British national of Caribbean descent

I'm glad the police have quickly identified the attackers as UK nationals before speculation gets out of hand.

I am slightly puzzled that transport was laid on to get the remaining passengers to London as I would have expected that they would have been asked to remain on scene. Any one of them might have information... e.g seen the perpetrators getting on out of the train window etc.
A mammoth task to hold on to everyone, I do realise.
Latest news is that 2 in critical condition, others OK or relatively minor physical injuries.

According to an eye witness everyone was questioned at the scene. Those who hadn't witnessed the actual attack were allowed to go after some time, other witnesses were asked to remain longer for statements to be taken.

Two British Nationals have been detained.

Granniesunite Sun 02-Nov-25 10:57:44

These poor families. What a terrible tragedy.

It will change lives unfortunately but I hope the best of medical care, emotional support and love from their family will help to get them through this horrendous time in their lives.

kittylester Sun 02-Nov-25 10:54:38

What makes you think you get a less biased picture from afar, nanna8.

May i ask when were you last here?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 02-Nov-25 10:54:14

Aveline the BBC edited out that part of one of the eyewitnesses account this morning.

I am sure the police will know very well who these violent people are. As usual, the truth is suppressed and of course will lead to anger and distress.

I think I have mixed my "nanna's" up Nanna8. Which country do you live in?

Hmmmm. I don't think nanna is necessarily wrong here. Why weren't the grooming gang members arrested immediately? Because the police didn't want to be accused of racism? It's that sort of thing that creeps into public consciousness that fuels that kind of thinking. Eye witnesses have already said publicly that it was a 'black man dressed in black'. We need to know more. We need to know the truth.

I was last night and am today p, so shocked by this barbaric act. I feel so sorry for all affected and thank our brilliant emergency services, professional as always but human too.

1. When they hide what they know from the public people speculate and look for someone to blame.
2. That is why there were riots after the young girls were killed in Southport
3. People are not stupid
4. I really hope that they don’t try to hide and shield the perpetrators of this crime if only to protect others.
5. If it is a terrorist attack the public need to be warned.

The perpetrator of the Southport stabbings was under age and that is why his personal details could not be released. In addition to this Nigel Farage spread incorrect information started by Andrew Tate that the perpetrator was a recently arrived asylum seeker, a false Muslim sounding name was even added to the story. That is why the riots happened. Nobody was trying to hide anything they were following the law. Perhaps you should stop reading conspiracy theories.

You can believe what you like. Sometimes we get a less biased picture from afar. I really ,really hope this will be solved soon. Of course I feel sad for the victims, what do you think I am ? The UK is not what it used to be, very sad situation. That is all I am saying and will not contribute to this thread any more because I am sick of being misconstrued.

The fact that they’ll ’get the best treatment’ is not the blooming point is it.
Some of them might die, and those that don’t will be traumatized for life.

Oh dear, someone always takes things the wrong way on here!

All I meant was, as they have said on various news channels, they are fortunate to be very close to Addenbrooke’s hospital which is a major centre of excellence. They were also able to be transported there rapidly so no time was lost. So it really IS the “blooming point”.

The victims will get the best treatment at Addenbrooke’s hospital. My son left there on Fri afternoon after major surgery lasting 8 hours. He had been in just over 3 weeks.
