Yes the BBC have done some things wrong and are apologising for the misleading details. They are no saints, who is?? However whatever he tries to scrub out Trump actually did want people to attack the government centre of his country. I saw the whole orginal thing and was appalled that someone who is supposed to be an important politician, inciting people to go against the law, just when it does not suit him.
I have lived and travelled abroad for many years, and can tell you from my own experience, that the BBC were the most trusted source for information in the world. I actually had someone in a conflict situation say to me, that they did not trust their own countries radio to tell the truth and were waiting for the BBC world news to hear what could be believed in that situation. The strange thing was that the following day, I had someone on the other side say exactly the same thing. So it is sad if this trust has been lost in any way by their actions, but whilst I am not naive and would always be aware of the possibilities of bias, the bbc are definitely my preferred people to hear an overall view of a world situation. Also whilst this situation is going on, you are aware of many people hoping to put the BBC out of business only so that they can take over!! Everyone has a certain bias, and part of being a thinking adult , is to recognise that you do have some bias in one way or another. Overall I try to find out information from various different sources and then make up my mind after considering the wider picture. But for myself , in difficult situations, when deciding if it was safe to be somewhere, or what the possibilities were of difficulties with weather or governments , the BBC were my go to listening and the decisions I have made partly based on their information has not let me down.
