Palestine for the Palestinian peoples, Israel for the Israeli peoples

LOL - just remembered an (Informal type) work meeting one time back before I retired. Cue for a colleague saying - in response to whatever it was our manager had said (think it wasn't a strictly work-related thing?) and said "I think I speak for us all - when I say that...." and then went on to give her own personal point of view.

Obviously I didn't let that comment stand - as I knew at least one of us (ie me) hadn't just had my viewpoint given by her and she'd said the direct opposite of my viewpoint in fact. So I spoke up and said "Actually - my own view on this is............." and "Mrs Speak for us all (she said)" had to accept she had not spoken for us all at that point.....

If my parents had left me a house to be just mine - I would still be describing it as mine - even if a squatter had moved into it decades ago and was mis-claiming it was theirs. Not that the squatter would still be there anyway - as I know exactly the roughest pub nearby where there'd probably be some big strong men looking to earn some extra money.....and capable of carrying out the squatters furniture and leaving it in the garden for them to collect.

It’s not good manners to deny the State of Israel CariadAgain or to suggest that all Israeli Jews could be sent back to their original countries and Israel given to Palestinians.I doubt that even the keenest of pro Palestinians on here would agree with that!

Just gone off to Chat GPT again (as one loses count - as there is so much of it going on) and asked what other countries as at today the IDF is attacking.

Answer = Syria, Lebanon, Yemen

and it explained exactly what parts they are attacking currently.

That is what the UN tried to achieve after WW2 but the Palestinians rejected the deal and the Arab countries tried to kill Israel resulting in the Israelis acquiring more land.

Not sure it was this simple. The British promised the Palestinians their own state in the Balfour agreement and then walked away when Israel began its incursions into previous Palestinian territiory.

typing error - IDF - not IRF

CariadAgain Mon 10-Nov-25 13:05:41

Thinks - goes off to check what territory just outside Palestine the IRF are currently attacking as well....remembers it's a bit of what they call "Greater Israel".

Oreo - I don't "mis-interpret/'explain' " other peoples posts. That would be very remiss of me to do - can I suggest you take a leaf out of my book and not do that to others? It is not good manners....

If hamas had run Gaza peacefully and spent money on their people there was a chance that in time there would have been a two State solution. Now, there’s little chance of that happening.

The only way to find a lasting peace is to totally unpack the present set up in that neck of the woods. Where Israelis are the supremacists and Palestinians are oppressed. No country has ever effectively dealt with this until this kind of apartheid is dismantled and all citizens are seen as equal.

That's got me thinking "How on earth could Palestinians live alongside them?". Where would be their guaranteed cast-iron rocksolid guarantees they wouldnt hurt them/kill them/steal even more of their land or in any way try to restrict them? In the Palestinians position it's the absolute last thing I'd do - in case they hurt or stole from me....

How on earth could Israelis live alongside Palestinians? Where would be their cast iron rock solid guarantees that thousands of Palestinians wouldn’t pour over the border and massacre civilians and take hostages again? Or constantly bombard Israel with missiles like they used to.
Israelis just want to be left alone.

We can dream but unless the Palestinians agree to live alongside Israelis peace won’t last long.

And vice versa David, let’s keep it balanced.

For those not in the know, CariadAgain means the State of Israel when she mistakenly and deliberately calls it Palestine and calls for non Palestinians (Jews) to be sent back to the countries they originally came from i.e Germany or anywhere else.
A more antisemitic comment you’d be hard pushed to find.

It's the same for both Israel and Palestine in those matters, isn't it.

You could equally ask, "what happens to the non Jewish in Israel. but its not acceptable for the Israelis to invade the West Bank where there were long established Palestinian Communities,

Neither to own chunks of Gaza.

Israelis in the West Bank would have to be under Palestinian rule, and an immediate ban on any more incomers as a start.

We need international peace keeping, negotiations as to borders, and Palestine of course given Statehood as soon as possible. Then at least we have two negotiating powers.

Anyway, for now, its a call for the very survival of Palestinians, the right to live and as in the picture, tend their olive groves and have rights to fish in the seas,

and for international support to do this. Money still pours into Israel to support the state and we aren't just talking the guns and weapons of war, its everyday life, the flourishing for farmers, businesses, hospitals, schools
