AGAA4

So Israel were allocated a larger portion of Palestine for their state but have now taken a lot more that belonged to the Palestinians and won't give it back because they are stronger. Aggressive bullying is what that is.

All countries in the world have done it and still do it, the winner takes it all as Abba sing.
If Israel hadn’t been bombarded with missiles for years and years they may have taken a friendlier view.

Why won't the Palestinians ever get land back?
The Jewish people got 'theirs' back after 2000 years.
The best they should hope for is being full citizens in a viable independent State.

What exactly is 'silly' about DNA tests?

Wow.

DNA as a marker for who is acceptable?

Where is this going😱?

What if Wales decided to do DNA tests CariadAgain ? You may be required to move out as an English person.😲

Why should Israel give it back? It’s theirs.
DNA tests is just a silly idea for the citizens of any country.

Even though they should?
Even though they have taken so much already from the Palestinians?
I know what that sounds like.

Because Israel is a strong country and won’t be giving it back.

As I said before in another Thread, the Bible isn't a 'land register', it is a collection of ancient religious documents.

But we are where we are! Palestinians won’t ever get land back.
The best they can hope for is to hang onto the land they already have.
It may be unfair, but it’s just a fact of life.

Lathyrus3 Mon 17-Nov-25 13:36:31

And most of us in the UK.

What percentage of our DNA would qualify us as one of the British tribes who could take back the land?

Pretty certain I’m OK. Out you all go!

DNA tests? We really are getting very silly here.

Just thinking this too Babs03. It is ridiculous to believe people have a right to land that they inhabited 2000 years ago.

It would certainly cause problems for the US.

Biblically the Jewish people were Israelites. Long history there. They are not ‘newcomers’ invading a country they have never been part of. It is the country of their forefathers, they have every right to live there.

If we were to apply this to all people’s around the world whose ancestors originated elsewhere I imagine todays migration would look like a drop in the ocean to the millions of people returning to the place of their forefathers.
And both Jews and Arabs are Semite’s from the same original tribe that lived in that region before Judaism or any other religion reared its head. So how far back do you want to go??

CariadAgain Mon 17-Nov-25 12:41:33

Just the small little matter...that very tiny thing ...of DNA tests.

Just a little whiff on the breeze to ignore. As for Netanyahu et al I've read it often enough they literally have a law to stop people taking one of those genetic tests - one wonders why....given that the Palestinians would "pass" them way more readily than say an American that decides to emigrate there....

They could take those tests if they choose to - one holiday abroad in a country without that law (ie probably any other country in the world), get the test, do it and then console oneself for having failed it....

Allira Mon 17-Nov-25 12:39:44

You wouldn't think so, would you, nanna8, to read some posts.

Me too AGAA4. I know if I explain things logically, offer evidence, etc = then I expect that people will look at it and think about it. But one thing I've learnt in this (and other) instances is some people don't want to and they won't do so.

To me that's something I wouldnt do - as a person who found like questioning minds way back in my younger days and I was wondering whether to try recreational drugs or no. But a fellow questioner had found/bought a book giving an exact 50/50 breakdown of pros and cons about whether to take them. Now that's the attitude I want to see in everything - and I take that as "role model example", read the book and made my decision (which was NOT to try recreational drugs after all). It would be nice to be able to switch my mind off occasionally, have it feel all very nice, maybe learn a bit - but the risks that were pointed out in the 50% "against" section of the book were too high.

Cue for full facts, logical decision made about them = end of.

That's how it should be about everything for everyone - but one could provide all the "logical 50/50" books about an issue there is - but some don't want to read them and won't read them. I don't know why and I've given up trying to figure out (as it's so different to my own way of thinking) - but that's how it is...

You don’t know what I believe AGAA4 but if left alone Israel wouldn’t need to take any seemingly harsh measures against Palestinians. They never ever have been left alone.

But such a myopic view, refusing to look at the bigger picture here, is part of the problem not the solution. Palestinians could also argue that if only they had been left alone rather than suffering the Nakba, and consistently having their rights and their land taken from them, things would be very different.
The Israeli government has shown over decades that it wants to take more land from Palestinians and steadily eradicate them from Israel.
I think any people who had been treated like Palestinians would cause trouble for their oppressors, is human nature, and when Jewish terrorist groups rose up against British occupiers in the 1940s in Palestine, they were proving this point unequivocally.

AGAA4 Mon 17-Nov-25 12:12:57

Judging by how aggressive Israel have been in Gaza I find it very difficult to believe that they haven't been aggressors before.

It wasn't just one side Oreo Israel have attacked Palestinians too. Israel isn't as pure as the driven snow as you seem to believe

Oreo Mon 17-Nov-25 11:51:27

It’s actually quite logical that they want to reduce Palestinian land from their point of view.If extreme Palestinians hadn’t constantly attacked Israel and its citizens then we wouldn’t be where we now are.

AGAA4 Mon 17-Nov-25 10:18:48

Life there would have been a lot easier if Israel had been content with being allocated 55% of the land. They had the lion's share and yet now they occupy 70% and still want more and are still taking land that isn't theirs.

Having had their own homes stolen from them by the Nazis in Germany and found themselves displaced they are now doing exactly that to the people of Palestine. It beggars belief.
