Absolutely tragic.
The same as the man who was waiting in a queue in Lloyds Bank, stabbed and murdered in a motiveless attack.
These murderers have mental health issues but they seem to have learned how to inflict a death blow very quickly.
Is this the internet?

The man that murdered the customer in the bank was an immigrant-asylum seeker who had been turned down for asylum and was angry and wanted to make the UK suffer for, what he felt, was injustice. I don’t believe he was mentally ill just vindictive.

I too think life should mean life otherwise there is no deterrent. That could have been my daughter that poor family, they’ll never get over it

If they are carrying a weapon then they intend to use it.

This has really quite upset me. I’ve just seen a picture of her and she looked lovely. Her family are obviously distraught and in deep shock. I do wonder if this is another mental health issue but time will tell. She was just waiting for a bus for heaven’s sake.

RIP Katie and deep condolences to her family and all who loved her flowers

Much as I love my city, I wouldn't go into Birmingham at night unless it's to a show, in which case it's out of the theatre door and into a taxi/lift. Our granddaughter goes in regularly. It's a worry.

It is absolutely shocking , that poor woman, just waiting for a bus sad I did mention it earlier on the Huntingdon multiple stabbings, but said it deserved a thread of its own. The timeline suggests this individual had been working up to a fatality days before with the one on Oct 27. Two 17 year boys were stabbed, just wondering if that was when he was charged and then he was let go shock Just way too many of these awful murders inflicted on the general public.

Absolutely heartbreaking for the women’s family.

He should get a life sentence for murder.

I think I life sentence, should be just that, no parole, no little jaunts out, die in prison.

Such an appalling tragedy.

Katie Fox, 34, died three days after the attack in Smallbrook Queensway, just outside the Bullring shopping centre, on Friday night.

She was taken to hospital with a “serious neck injury” and remained there in a critical condition.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “She has since tragically died in hospital.”

Djeison Rafael, 21, of Rosedale Avenue, Smethwick, is accused of murder and appeared in Birmingham Magistrates’ Court. An application to amend the charges was made following her death.

Mr Rafael has also been charged with two counts of causing actual bodily harm on Oct 27 and Nov 7, possession of a Stanley knife on November 7 and assaulting a detention escort officer on November 8.
