An ex navy much older cousin took me there once in the sixties. I had never eaten curry before but thoroughly enjoyed the flowing gin. Sadly the following day I was quite unwell, …..naturally I blamed the curry and have never eaten any since. Gin however….grin

My late father took me there as a teenager in the sixties. It was memorable. Earlier this year my DH and I had an amazing dinner there as I wanted him to experience the ambiance and amazing cuisine. I’d heard it was under threat of closure - I hope it can be saved.

I was saddened to read that this great British institution is under threat.

Crown Estates the leaseholders wish to create a reception area for the offices in Victory House.

It opened in 1926, my late in laws were frequent visitors and dined there on VJ night.
Having left India in 1945 it was the only place they could get a curry!

I’m hoping King Charles will intervene, many celebrities are campaigning to keep it open in the original premises on Regent Street.
