Policy should stand on ideas and outcomes, not on who happens to support it. Attacking supporters avoids the real debate. If Reform’s platform is weak, point to specific policies and explain why they fail. That is how you challenge a party effectively.

Our grandchildren have access to mobile phones, therefore to what in previous years wiukd have been extreme pornigroohy and difficult to access.
Life is different than when our children were eg walking to school without parents for the first time. Heavy, fast traffic a real risk, so is access to totally unsuitable content on mobile phones. By year 7, high school, it’s increasingly hard for parents to refuse a mobile phone. The children are travelling to school unsupervised. Traffic such a risk and there’s the need to have easy contacts so parents know children arrived safely. Parental controls are one thing but not every parent sets them.
I don’t envy my adult children negotiating this . Today I heard our almost ten year old pleading for an Apple Watch for Christmas so he could be like his friends

I think younger teens probably need phones but old-fashioned phones, to make calls if they need help.

Australia has the right idea but already there have been challenges about the ban on certain internet sites for under 16s.

There is also a lot of online bullying of girls by boys and their 'mates', which can result in school phobia.

I think we should all be very concerned about what our children have access to on the internet. I think it's pertinent that China has strict rules about what it's children can see, Russia controls what all of it's citizens can see and I'm sure that most Middle Eastern countries are also restricting access. Australia has taken a lead in banning certain sites to it's under 16's and I believe this country should also be considering access. When you have people like Bonny Blue making a huge amount of money from people paying to see her have sex with over a 1,000 men, I think we should all be concerned about what our young people might be able to view, regardless of whether we have teenage children in our family or not. I have never seen hardcore pornography tbh I've never really seen any. I don't have a problem with adults paying to see something that may help them to have a better sex life but do we really want our kids to see it. I have absolutely no doubt that if I saw some of the vile images that many of our children can see I'd be absolutely outraged and IMO so should any right minded person.

However, increasingly have had discussions re others tricking teens then blackmailing online to show nude photos- escalating further. They thought they were on a site chatting to another teen- but no- an abusive adult. Once sucked in and threatened with blackmail, a worrying trend towards encouraging teen girls to self harm plus might get sucked in to suicide sites also. so facing online criminal charges but got there by being a victim- all very sad. The dark web is not a nice place for teens at all- full of dangers.

It's so sad, I heard on R4 about a boys WhatsApp group that were targeting vulnerable girls and making them do things like cut their own hair off and then put it in their mouths. All for humiliation. Personally I would castrate the lot of the little sh*ts.

Bonny Blue is a porn star who has made her name by taking part in public sexual activity. i would have expected her to have impinged on the notice of anyone who is a regular newspaper reader because she has been in the news a lot and the news item would have been in the next column to whatever else you are reading that payed due attention to you noble mind and its interests.

I am never sure how to respond to triumphant cries of 'never heard of him/her/it' as if boasting of one's ignorance of someone/something reflects on the person/things essential worthlessness and irrelevance, or merely displays the proclaimers ignorance . It was a phrase my father used and I could never understand how such an intelligent man, could not see the problem.

As I said earlier in the thread, her 'antics' have been widely reported on numerous social media platforms as well as mainstream media. You often see people on GN almost proudly declaring that they've never heard of X, Y or Z, when a simple search would tell them all they need to know.

There is nothing wrong with declaring you've never heard of someone and asking who she is, or then Googling.

We don't all read the same newspapers or follow the same news stories.
