Rennee Good's family lawyers have now released the results of an independent autopsy, showing three gunshot wounds. She was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said at the time the agent opened fire after Good tried to ram officers with her vehicle.

The DHS has not yet published the outcome of its investigation. We await details of what legal action Good's family lawyers may take against DHS. This thread has been started as the previous thread comes towards its 1000 post end to discuss the aftermath, impact and repercussions.

Barricades - Looks like a modern scene from Le Miserable.

Sorry, hit enter too soon.

They pushed him down and jumped on him. But she's headed this way

RIP Alex Pretti- condolences to his family and his loved ones.

I just saw the video from the woman on the pink (not red) coat. The ICE agent pushed him down and then they jumped on his.

He was a nurse at the VA hospital

Trump is clearly targeting Democrat cities, but it hardly needs me to write this, does it?

RIP Alex and his friends, family:

and this city under siege, the mayor asking Trump for ICE to withdraw and leave them to carry on their lives peacefully.

The dead man has been identified as

“Alex Pretti, the man killed by federal agents today in Minneapolis, appears to have been a registered nurse, an athlete, a son and a brother, with ties to Colorado and Wisconsin”.

Thinking of his loved ones.
RIP Alex Pretti

Thanks WhiteWave, another tragic name to be remembered.

Personally, I find the pro-Trump condoning to be much, much worse than pathetic,

"My goodness. This man who was shot wasn't observing. He was armed. He refused to back down. Stop looking at media that confirms your biased opinions".

The fatally shot man was not an illegal immigrant. American citizens have constitutional legal rights to protest Reka. They also have a right to carry arms if they have a permit as imaround has indicated in her posted link. The ICE agents in the moment could not possibly know whether the man has a permit or not. What do you mean "he refused to stand down"- refused to stand down from what specifically?

The DHS released a statement after the fatal shooting of Renee Good that a law enforcement officer (LEO) "may use deadly force when the LEO has a reasonable belief that the subject of such force poses an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to the LEO for to another person".

We're all looking at the same video evidence - in what way Reko would you say the man was posing an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to a LEO so we can understand your opinion? I couldn't see in any video evidence that the man was holding a firearm and appeared to be effectively restrained i.e. securely held down by the ICE officers before the shots were fired?

Obama and Biden deported hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants using ICE. Man in charge of ICE was given an award by Obama for removing illegal aliens. This same chap is in charge now. Obama had the children in cages. Look on YouTube at Obama proudly announcing the success of ICE.

Why no protests then? Just try and enhance your knowledge.

TDS is alive and kicking. And rather embarrassing.

And no, Trump is not my type of politician, Id never vote for him
But this anti Trump hysteria is, quite simply, pathetic.

You have evidence that he was illegally carrying the weapon? Did you consider that he may been doing so legally, as the ill-trained nutjobs recruited by ICE often encourage, shouting about the 2nd Amendment?

I can’t take anyone serious who goes on about TDS.

State sponsored terrorism.

Looks like there was a woman in a red jacket who witnessed/videoed the shooting and is believed to be taken into custody by ICE.

This has not been confirmed, but I want to put this here in case it comes back up later.

LemonJam Sat 24-Jan-26 19:17:43

The DHS has alleged the man was carrying a gun and released a photo of said gun. However its legal to own and carry a gun in US and the DHS have not indicated what particular crime this man had allegedly committed to be shot several times whilst video shows several ICE officers had already successfully wrestled him to the ground...

Whitewavemark2 Sat 24-Jan-26 19:14:27

Just listening to the press conference.

Once again we are asked to disbelieve our own eyes.

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 19:08:57

Here it comes. Steven Miller has called this an insurrection. He called this man a domestic terrorist who tried to kill ICE agents.

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 19:07:32

The Republican response. In case you want to know why there will be people here defending ICE at some point.

"Several hours after the shooting, Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer said on X that local leaders' “rhetoric empowered criminals and put federal law enforcement’s lives at risk.”

"It’s dangerous and has made the situation in Minneapolis much worse,” Emmer added. “Unlike my Democrat colleagues, I’m going to let law enforcement conduct their investigation and not jump to asinine conclusions. We are grateful no Border Patrol officers were harmed."

The Minnesota Star Tribune has reached out to the state's three other Republicans in Congress for comment."

Trump has driven the USA backwards by about 150 years, re-introducing Wild West non-justice.

Maremia Sat 24-Jan-26 19:05:40

The thing is, would the Nationsl Guard 'tackle' or support ICE?

Yes that is what I understand. The video just like Good looks pretty clear cut. He was filming ICE who grappled him to the ground beat him up and then shot him.

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 18:57:29

I went and looked up the law for carrying a gun in Minneapolis. This is the AI summary.

"In Minneapolis, like all of Minnesota, you need a state-issued Permit to Carry to carry a handgun (concealed or openly) in public, which requires training, a background check, and an application through your county sheriff, with licenses valid for 5 years and allowing carry across 33 states. Recent court rulings have clarified that 18-20 year olds can now obtain permits, but local city ordinances can still impose restrictions, so checking Minneapolis-specific rules is crucial.

Here is the state government webpage on this.

dps.mn.gov/divisions/bca/public-services-bca/firearms-information/permit-carry

From what I have seen, the local police are reporting he was lawfully carrying his weapon. I need to find the video of him just standing there filming, which is not illegal to do. He was not impeding.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 24-Jan-26 18:54:09

Where else is Trump sending ICE?

imaround Sat 24-Jan-26 18:52:07

Actually, I think what we are going to witness is a battle over the National Guard. Republicans are saying that Trump needs to activate them. Walz already has them on standby.

This is where case law is so important. The SC has already ruled that he cant just nationalize the guard and send them into cities and has forced Trump to return control of the NG to states already. The only way for Trump to be successful is to declare martial law and take control of the NG in Minnesota IMO.
