Starmer has clung on just now but there’s the election in Denton in a fortnight and the other elections in May.It all depends on what happens then.
Am guessing that the other political parties want him to stay as Labour would be easier to beat with him at the helm.

Anwar blaming Starmer for Labour's dismal performance in Scotland for 30 years and thinking they will do better there if we have a new PM was just ludicrous and sour grapes. It made me more defensive of Starmer.

However, I will agree with Primrose that some of their decisions have upset a lot of the British public. Some of the voters who changed their vote to Labour in the last GE might well vote differently next time as they have been very disappointed.

Ive been very disappointed with Starmer winning the election on a reasonable agenda then failing to implement much of it, maybe he will struggle through, likely he won't, then we are in very uncertain economic times.

A large part of Labour’s woes is there appalling standard or even lack of communications.

That is very true. People can’t know what they aren’t told, I hope the next person has far more of a social media savvy approach.

His speech yesterday claiming “I will never walk away from …..” was just a joke. He has walked away from pensioners, he has walked away from farmers, from publicans and the rest of the hospitality sector, from WAPI women.

Then running on about how he is working class and he supports the working class. Since when have millionaire champagne socialists been “working class”? 🤣

He even mentioned his disabled brother who passed away last year who he says lived in poverty. So with all his wealth why didn’t he help his brother out financially?

It was a load of BS and most right thinking people will recognise it as such.

Yes we all have our opinions, but none of us know what will happen next. A lot is going to depend on who replaces Morgan Sweeney and Tim Allan.

He is now a very lame duck. In my opinion.

It’s all a big shame as well as a mess. Starmer has been disappointing since becoming PM. That’s without question. There’s no glee for me in any of that. The government’s excellent work is drowned out as the media adds to the dissatisfaction most voters feel

Apparently there are rumours that Farage is unwell. Of course they may be just that or there may be truth behind them but we don't know. What happens if there is no Farage? The Company he owns seems to be followed by many because of his cult status. There seems to be little reasoning.

I saw that yesterday too DaisyAnneReturns. It does raise an important question for Reform as to where would they be without Farage. I don’t think any of the other parties are personality led to the same extent, and they have processes in place to replace their leaders should the need arise.

He is not going to step down and they don't want a contest that includes him. In a very old-fashioned British way he is brave when it comes to doing his "duty".

Much as I hate what’s been happening over the past few days here I’m rather proud that our PM came close to having to resign even though he wasn’t directly linked to Epstein whereas in America those with close links to the vile man are carrying on as normal. We are not like America. And I hope we never will be.

I've only briefly looked at the news channel as it's all so disheartening and unsettling.

Who on earth would they stop all the local elections? Starmer isn’t Trump.

Because they dont fancy knowing the results!

This is delusional. On top of the fact that, as people on here have explained, there is a reason for the cancellation of some council elections, the government can’t just cancel a council election because they’re scared of losing. Look what happened when Johnson tried to prorogue parliament.
