Nigel Farage en route to meet his chum Trump tonight aiming to undermine KS and UK government

Nigel Farage to discuss Chagos Islands deal at Mar-a-Lago dinner with Donald Trump tonight. In the latest example of Nigel Farage doing absolutely anything rather than spend time in his Clacton constituency, the Reform UK leader is to meet Donald Trump for dinner at Mar-a-Lago tonight, where he says he will discuss the Chagos Islands deal.

Attending a ‘Save Chagos Boat Party’ yesterday, Farage said he would be flying to Florida to dine with the US president on Friday, GB News reported Farage said:
"We think this is the central plan for this government’s foreign policy and we are beating them back. President Trump has almost understood the deal, but I will be dining at Mar-a-Lago tomorrow night and we will reinforce the message."

Trump changed his mind on supporting the Chagos Islands deal because the UK will not permit its airbases to be used for a pre-emptive US strike on Iran. In his latest change of heart on the deal, the US president said on social media that Keir
Starmer was “making a big mistake” by handing sovereignty of the islands to Mauritius in exchange for continued use by the UK and US of their airbase on one of the islands, Diego Garcia.

Farage also earlier this week called for the UK to join Trump’s war in Iran, a view that is wildly at odds with British voters, according to the latest YouGov polling (only 29% support the joint US-Israeli strikes).

One really good reason for voters here to give this snake oil salesman the swerve.
I mean not only did Trump slag off our armed forces a while ago saying they didn’t help out in conflicts in recent years, which is of course not only a huge lie from thus draft dodger but hugely disrespectful, by saying Starmer is a loser for not getting embroiled in an illegal war he is also saying that the majority of people in this country who back Starmer’s decision are also losers.
Yet Farage is happy to throw all this under the bus in order to suck up to his hero, which shows that his loyalty to this country is seriously compromised.

Last in the queue for patriotism then.

Imperialist warmongers the both of them. Disgusting

Farage is on his way to meet his fellow students to apologise for the racist remarks he made to them when he was studying at Dulwich College.

Farage is on his way to scramble even further up Trump’s arse derrière’🤮

LemonJam puts it in a nutshell why this country must not have Farage as PM.

Maremia Fri 06-Mar-26 16:30:19

Great. Are we looking for suitable endings to 'Farage is on his way to...'?
WhiteWave, yours is my favourite so far.
'Farage is on his way to do some honest work.'
Over to you GNs.

Thank goodness his party isn't running the country.

Though Farage behaved as though it is.

His snake-oil grifter attitude makes me so mad, I could easily punch the froggy arrogant face!

I heard Farage give the same sort of misogynistic response to a female heckler that Trump gives to female reporters at news conferences. I think he said something like ‘ having a bad day are we dear’.

Look to the future.

Yes, that is a consoling thought. By the next election they will no doubt both be history.

Smileless2012: "Trump had already changed his mind LemonJam before embarking on this illegal war"

Trump has changed his mind SEVERAL times even though the deal is backed by his own US state department! The post clearly says his "latest change of mind".

Ie- Previously Trump criticised the deal, but described it as "the best Starmer could get" in the circumstances. Following that Trump then linked the deal with US military strikes against Iran and wrote on Truth Social "Should Iran decide not to make a deal, it may be necessary for the US to use Diego Garcia, and the airfield located in Fairfield, in order to eradicate a potential attack by a highly unstable and dangerous regime".

His ire and negativity towards the deal and KS has grown in the face of KS's response to the Iran Strike. Farage is going specifically with the intention to fan the flames more- in a time of national crisis- shame on him.

Reading the summary on list on the right,

I read

"Nigel Farage en route to meet his"

and thought, uncharitably

"Nigel Farage en route to meet his...maker..."

Haha If only!

Look to the future.

Not quite sure what you mean by this? What future? Trump won’t in POTUS forever and Farage has a long wait and a helluva lot of work to do to become PM! Which personally I think will only happen in Reforms imagination

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 06-Mar-26 16:03:15

Well, we can be quietly confident that the sentence beginning " Mr Farage is on his way to..." is very unlikely to end with ..." Clacton".

The current government really needs to include capping political donations in the Representation of the People bill. It should be illegal to ‘buy’ political parties!

Well said Cossy 👏
his gurning grin makes me want to throw something at the TV. He's another one who uses the voters to get a seat and then forgets his responsibilities to them

I'm not sure who Farage thinks he is. He is extremely unimportant and has been allowed to think he has power.

I think it’s down to the multi millionaires who back him and his party….

Cossy Fri 06-Mar-26 14:41:44

Honestly, this outrages me!

Neither Trump nor Farage have the “authority” to have discussions of this, or to be honest, anything else! Farage is the leader of a very small party, not PM, nor part of the Shadow Cabinet.

He needs to park his lazy bum in Clacton and do something for the poor people in two of the most deprived boroughs in England!

LemonJam Fri 06-Mar-26 14:38:09

On reflection - maybe we have become accustomed and desensitised to such actions, behaviour and interference from Farage with Trump we just passively accept....
