There are photographs in the press showing the Japanese Prime Minister hugging Trump. Even Reuters reported the hug.

I'm puzzled by this, though.

He is awful..That poor lady was squirming.. He has no intelligence,dignity,compassion or diplomacy, he's also a convicted felon. He loves humiliating people makes him feel good! Cannot wait till he is removed,one way or another! He is a complete embarrassment! No wonder Melania stays away. She will divorce him after he's out of office. Her prenup will have something like that in it...

Political correctness seems is not his forte to say the least. I actually got the joke about Pearl Harbour and thought it was quite funny.

When I said ‘him’ Willow3 I was referring to the Japanese journalist who had asked the question. I know the Japanese Prime Minister is a woman as she was sitting next to Trump in the video.

If people had bothered - its such a short clip - then it would be clear what the question is, and that the PM is a woman, and exactly why his response was totally, utterly, beyond crass.

For anyone who hasn’t caught this is with a watch, just google it. The Japanese PM asks the President why Japan and other allies were not informed of the impending war with Iran. Trump went on as usual about it being a surprise attack then turned to the Japanese PM and said it was like Pearl Harbour, inasmuch as Japan didn’t tell the US about that surprise attack, as if it was a joke.
The PM looked mortified.

Mentally deranged morons cannot be communicated with.

….but JenniferEccles is right, it was a daft question by the Japan PM to ask in a televised setting.
That was something to ask in private if he felt that he had to ask.
The element of surprise was key.

Oreo the question was asked by a Japanese reporter not by the Japanese PM.

Also, the Japanese PM is a woman.
