Anniebach I totally see where you are coming from but this man is not an ordinary chap in the street he’s a world leader and his is probably not so much a mental illness as a personality disorder or both
He has disrupted the whole world and caused unnecessary deaths, expense and huge future problems and in my opinion should be in prison with a gag on his mouth
He is indefensible and should not be equated to someone with mental health issues He is as power mad as Hitler was, but much more stupid.

It seems that Trump is not well either mentally or physically.
Time he was replaced.

I understand that Cossy and dark humour gets us through difficult situations sometimes.
As a nurse in a previous life we also used this between ourselves to cope with things.
However I think that to refer to 'loony bins' in public and in hopefully more enlightened times is very sad. Many of us have had help from psychiatric hospitals and have illnesses rather than being 'loony'. I know that the word is probably derived from phases of the moon but that meaning is lost now.

We have serious mental health issues with our immediate family, in order for us all to deal with, both those unfortunate to have these conditions and those living alongside it, we use humour, dark humour, and we do use terms others would find completely offensive I’m sure, but it’s our way, as a family, of dealing with pretty awful situations.

I never (knowingly) use them in public nor use them to denigrate others, having said that, Trump does behave in an insane manner.

He is a very unpleasant person.

I’m guessing because his behaviour is so unpredictable and ridiculous, in some ways it’s actually more pleasant to think he’s mentally unwell than just a vile man playing at being POTUS.

He certainly shows signs of some form of personality disorder, possibly narcissistic

I don't think he is a well man.

Strange bruises could mean, as someone pointed out, that he has had a catheter fitted although that might be more like to be somewhere that wouldn't show.

It could also mean that he is taking blood thinners. Someone on blood thinners could develop purple bruises if they barely knock themselves on something.

I don’t think he was in hospital but became incognito while the rescue of the pilot was ongoing. That’s what I read anyway.

One hopes that the so called leader of the free world, has a cool head, strategic intelligence, fluent and proficient use of language, and a strong upholder of the rule of law.

Trump has none of these things.

Trump has his hand on the nuclear button. It's worrying that he has disrupted the whole world and nobody has stopped him.
I just wonder if all those who have to agree to pressing that button won't have the backbone to say no.

What point are you making anniebach? This man’s language and behaviour is unacceptable, offensive, inflammatory and given his role, dangerous. It’s simply indefensible. He’s mocked people with disabilities, with what he calls mental problems

Mental illnesses are torture to the sufferer, this is my opinion, am I not allowed to speak it ?

Personally, I’m more concerned about the torture he is inflicting on hundreds of thousands of innocent people.

The man is clearly unwell and must be removed.

I think that the clips of cars rushing him to Walter Reed hospital have resurfaced from 2024? He is still alive. He is not in hospital

I am becoming more and more concerned that a point may not come when those around him draw the line .... this has been my only hope but the delusion seems to be spreading. His "spiritual advisor" openly says he is the new Jesus Christ. You can't reason with that.
The only hope is that he might be taken ill. I can't see anything else shifting him.

I do not think it unreasonable to hope and pray that something will happen to Donald Trump that will mean he has to be removed from the Presidency.

There are plenty of things that could happen to him that would do him no physical or mental harm but would remove him from office. For example giving an order that is so outragious and bizarre that either the armed forces refuse to obey it or even some of his colleagues draw the line.

I went to see a Ruby Wax show last week. She included a clip of her interview with Trump possibly from 2000. He came across as a total control freak and totally obnoxious. He was just starting his political career and even then was completely self obsessed with no personal awareness. It beggars belief that he has managed to become leader of the USA.

My concern is this man is the Potus and has started an illegal war. I don’t see his actions as part of a treatable mh illness. If it was. I imagine his congress and generals would have taken action to protect him and the world
Many eminent psychologists and psychiatrists have speculated personality disorder. My experience Is pd notoriously hard to treat and treatment ineffective without patient total commitment to need to change.

I hear what you are saying Annie about not wanting mental illness or psychiatric hospitals to be treated lightly.

But some psychiatric illnesses can represent a danger to others and where that person has delusions of grandeur and highly erratic behaviour whilst also being a man with it seems unlimited power ... then we have a dangerous situation and people will feel very deeply about this with good reason.
