He’s Not the Messiah….

Allira

He was accused of having a Messiah complex by former friends and colleagues.

Must be true then.

I believe the term Messiah Complex is borrowed from psychology and ideed people may have this.

Unrelated to T and the Pope apart from the use of the word Messiah.

Blair did not believe he was the Messiah, or the Messiahs representative on earth.
I know threads meander but there’s no comparison between Blair and Trump ( ok an illegal war but even there Trump tops

Apologies about Jesus being Palestinian. I was echoing someone else and should have known better having gone to Sunday school for many years. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Rubbish, Blair said nothing of the sort
His wife and children were Catholics and he converted in 2007 after stepping down as PM.

👍👏👏👏

Apprently Trump as taken the image down.
He has said " the image was depicting him as a doctor "making people better", rather than as a Jesus-like figure.
He's accuses the media of having "come up" with that narrative.

Hahaha You simply couldn’t make this up!

Apparently Tony Blair saw himself as some sort of Messiah with a mission, so nothing new about the God complex. He certainly looks the part, whereas Blair looks more impish.

TB's reason for Iraq invasion was because it was "right". That's the Messiah complex.

Blair may have been many things but he didn't release this sort of thing.

Sigh. I meant he has the appearance and the colouring of people of the Palestinian area, ie brown skin not white skin version like Trump who even has blue eyes and other European portrayals we often saw as children. I think you know what I meant!

Well, more Mediterranean than brown probably. Olive skin and brown eyes.

Whoever Tony Blair may have seen himself as, he did not release pictures of himself as the Som of God. I am an atheist, but I am as appalled as anyone by this.

He actually crossed the line when he posted Praise Allah on Easter. This is going back and stomping on the line.

In normal political times, this would be the point where Republicans in Congress remove him to save their own butts in November. Voters tend to have short memories, and both political parties use that to their advantage and clean up their acts and elections come near.

It begs the question, why aren't they? They must feel confident that they can't lose.

I believe it was Jesus who preached that a person should turn the other cheek, unlike the eye for an eye mentality he was a peacemaker. I think Trump is the total opposite. He doesn’t just want an eye for an eye but an eye for several thousand innocent deaths. Am afraid Netanyahu is the same despite Judaism being a faith built upon peace.

Indeed and very sad and scary it is too!

Usedtobeblonde

He is both deranged and dangerous.

Absolutely!

Can you imagine the outrage and backlash if he'd presented himself as Allah? The repercussions if he'd mocked Islam would be catastrophic.

Remember is it not wrong to actually portray god or Jesus in Christianity, but it is in Islam. Basic total difference!

But.... Hmmm. I think imaround is right, he will really have crossed the line for most Christians.

It will be worth monitoring the news as I imagine some Christian organisations will discuss and react accordingly nor instantly.
He's set an ugly rot in for some of his followers. Gone beyond the pale.

Correct me if I'm wrong ( those who know much more) but I don't think there is such a representation available.

Fallout must have been swift.

I actually hope he continues to do this kind of crap until November. And I hope that the Republicans let him. Because it will be a clean sweep on November. I predict we are about to see numbers similar to what we saw yesterday in terms of voter turnout and swing.

And maybe then we can get healthcare that doesn't bankrupt us.

Just the laying on of hands. No stethoscope. 😂

A doctor!!! You have to laugh!!!!
Will there be anyone who actually believes him?
