Has anyone caught the whisper about another secret donation to Farage? One million this time. A one time ally dishing the dirt?
Saw again those disgraceful 'cartoons' about Polanski. I have no idea if he is Jewish, his own business, but some hideous person/people think he is.

He was born David Paulden on 2 November 1982 in Salford, Hideous people?

His Jewish ancestors had moved to the UK from Poland to escape the occupation by Nazi Germany, but originated from Latvia which they fled to escape pogroms (initially to Ukraine, then to Poland) in the early twentieth century. The family adopted the surname of Paulden hoping to evade antisemitism His parents divorced when he was 11.

Yes. Graphite has mentioned the donation on another thread.

I know, and Farage has been reported to the Parliamentary Standards Committee for not declaring the £5m. It remains to be seen if either will be formally investigated, but instinct tells me that if they are found guilty, one is a rap on the knuckles offence, whereas the other is a 16 weeks suspension and a by election offence.

Council tax not paid.
Breast enlargement by hypnosis and not being a bonafide hypnotist apparently.
Not a Red Cross spokesman either.
Is he really Jewish?

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 12-May-26 21:22:20

Well Zack Polanski has been reported to City Hall’s standards committee after admitting he failed to pay council tax for his houseboat.

As i wrote on another thread ( I think), I am not sure what you read, but I would say that Farages £5 million is getting just as much publicity as Polanski's .

It is just that Farage is a known grifter and his behaviour is deplorable, but not surprising, while Polanski is a bit of a surprise, One always thinks of Green leaders as being honest and worthy and Green party members likewise. To see it suddenly discovered that actually these honest and worthy Green voters have voted a mall time grifter, (lying in his CV, trying to avoid paying Council tax) into leadership, is real news and must be very distressing to them. He is another that will not go until he is kicked out

I read most of the standard news M0nica. Your interpretation of the Greens being perceived as more honest than other politicians is interesting, I’m obviously more cynical than you are. It’s more the fact that Polanski has no real power yet is getting this amount of air time that interests me. There have indeed been a number of different attacks on him in the last couple of weeks, far more than on Farage.

No, I’m not a Green supporter. The difference between them is that one is accountable because he is an MP, and the other isn’t - and of course, the scale of the potential offences is very different.

How Polanski not paying his council tax is taking up so much more media energy than Farage’s undeclared £5m is a puzzle, given Polanski is not even an MP. I smell the rats in the sewers.

Are you a Green supporter by any chance?
There’s room for doubts about both Polanski and Farage.
Both cut from the same cloth in many ways.

Do we want a man in charge of the country who keeps making so any careless mistakes, who he has worked for, paying his rates. Imagine him forgetting he has a meeting with someone key in the EU, or that he was meant to be at parliament on the day of the Kings speech.

Iam64 Tue 12-May-26 20:41:23

Grifter - yes

Galaxy Tue 12-May-26 20:38:34

Grifter. That's all really.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 12-May-26 20:38:20

Is he at all bright FGT? Hypnotising to increase breast size?

And apologises for being shallow/judgemental/choose your critical response but ++++ those teeth?!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 12-May-26 20:33:16

The council in my area take out a court summons for any overdue council tax, and then charge a feee for doing so. I hope that Polanski is similarly charged.

It also begs the question that if he does not understand the criteria for paying taxes is he bright enough to hold office ?

Iam64 Tue 12-May-26 20:28:23

MawsRosie, one look and listen to Mr Polanski had me convinced grubby secrets will emerge.

Cossy Tue 12-May-26 20:26:00

He has now (apparently) paid it in full, but I agree, this is not what we expect or deserve from any of our politicians.

MawsRosie Tue 12-May-26 20:09:37

It seems Green Party leader Zack Polanski has apologised for an "unintentional mistake" after admitting he failed to pay the correct council tax while living on a houseboat in east London. He was registered on the electoral roll at the marina address - but told reporters he only stayed there "occasionally."
Tax lawyer Dan Neidle says the evidence points to the narrowboat being his main residence, meaning Polanski either owes unpaid council tax or potentially committed a criminal offence by registering to vote at an address he did not actually live at.
The Green Party leader who campaigns on fairness — caught dodging his own council tax bill?
How many more skeletons are in his closet?
