Robert Kenyon, Reform's candidate for Makerfield. Would you let him in your house?

I have just heard some of the vile misogynist comments that this plumber has posted on social media. His comments about Carol Vorderman were just disgusting. I wouldn't want him in my house to mend the toilet, yet Reform are hoping to get him in the House of Commons to represent the people of Makerfield. What does this tell you about Reform and would you vote for him?

It is worse to be honest. It is a threat.

I'm not sure which comment you refer to as worse.

You claim to care about "women's issues", so I assume that you think that vile misogynist comments are about pretty low. I can provide you with more, if you want.

Trouble is, the decent ones get tarred by the same brush. I now don’t trust any of them from any party . Here as well. A bunch of self seeking liars or so it seems. Gone are the days when we respected and supported our pollies.

Sorry, nanna, but I really don't know of any established politician who has made the same kind of vile comments.

Wes Streeting once said he would like to push the Mail columnist Jan Moir under a train.

Just demonstrates the calibre of a lot of politicians these days.

Not all though. For instance, I certainly can’t imagine Theresa May or Rishi Sunak stooping so low.

I am an equal opportunist when it comes to misogyny. If people only suddenly call out misogyny when it suits their political beliefs I would never trust those people with fighting for e9nens rights.

Danny Kruger was interviewed on R4 this morning, not sure who the interviewer was, I was only half listening while doing something else, but the interviewer was female and she absolutely skewered Kruger. She left him up the creek without a paddle.

The interviewer read out some of the emails this little piece of ordure, the ones fit to read, sent to Carol Vorderman. How any woman could bring herself to vote for this candidate after hearing those, I do not know and Danny Kruger did himself no favours. He was caught on the hop, hadn't been briefed and his defence of this candidate was disgusting.

I was wondering: is there any proof that Kenyon was actually working as a plumber before registering his company three months ago? Or since?

Yes, it would be interesting to know. Apparently, his van seems unused and clean, as are the tools which he's allowed to be photographed. The van doesn't have any of his business details on the sides and back and he doesn't seem to have any presence as a plumber online or in trade directories. Maybe somebody could ask him to repair their boiler.

Eh? I'd call that kind of comment out as misogyny whoever said it.

Nor Keir Starmer, to be honest.

Billy Bragg has called it the Twitterisation of political discourse.

But there was zero uproar when Streetings tweets came out, and zero concern about whether the labour party supported misogyny by appointing him to a cabinet role.

Distraction from the issue.

You've confirmed that you support misogyny.

Ther's this video of him driving Farage around and talking about his life.

www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2079774469603713

Between this and various things he had written about himself online, he has had a variety of jobs including a business failure in 2010, Not sure what it was and why. He mentions the recession and having to go to Leeds for work.

He says he has worked in bars, in a bookies, for a scaffolding company, has said (not in the video) that he has been in the army and worked for the NHS during the pandemic.

He says he has gone "limited" as a company as he doesn't want to make quarterly returns which sole traders turning over more than £50,000 a year now have to do under Making Tax Digital

It makes me think he wouldn't enjoy the amount of paperwork a constituency MP has to wade through - although if he is using Farage as a yardstick then he probably doesn't realise there is any.

He sounds rather naive to me about what being an MP entails.

Graphite, I wouldn't have thought a genuine plumber would struggle to find work.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 25-May-26 10:55:49

After watching the events in the US I would not be surprised if this Reform candidate remains on the ballot sheet. Never forgot that millions of Americans voted for trump even though he is racist, sexist, lies, assaults women (and is found guilty), is a felon, condemns American POWs, takes the mickey out of a disabled journalist and is even now setting up a fund to compensate the January 6 rioters who were found guilty and subsequently pardoned. Farage is his biggest fan.

You are making allegations against me twaddle that aren't true, as many people wwhether they agree with my views or not will confirm, I try to avoid reporting, so am making similar statements about you.

Lots of small businesses no longer have printed details on their vans. My husband removed all his when he was still working. It tells thieves there could be valuable tools and equipment on board. It also deters neighbours from knocking on your van when you get to a customers house and saying “while you’re here can you just fix my xxxx”. That is so annoying because they expect a job on the cheap.

LizzieDrip Mon 25-May-26 11:09:46

He’ll remain on the ballot sheet!

Those defending his comments by searching for equivalence elsewhere hold no sway with me I’m afraid - I’m sure they’re not bothered about that anyway.

I find it weird when someone can’t just say that they find something disgusting without pointing to something else disgusting to ‘offset’ it.

But hey ho… that’s up to them.

Oh, what’s shoplifting got to do with misogyny and racism btw🤔

I’ve also read he’s not a plumber but works in a vape shop!

I think he was/is a plumber. He also lists he was a "specialist NHS technician" which is also likely to be plumbing I think.

I can't find anything about vape shops.

Less than what? Who has been banned? If we know and it is un fair we can try to get her reinstated. I can return the compliment after people got me reinstated.

Primrose53 Mon 25-May-26 11:19:09

Interesting to read that SOME banned people get back on.

Many will remember Germanshepherdsmum who gave so much free legal advice to people over and over again. She was super smart, never offensive and she spoke her mind. She was banned with no explanation and her requests to rejoin were ignored.

NotSpaghetti Mon 25-May-26 11:19:40

That said, I am NOT recommending him!
