Robert Kenyon, Reform's candidate for Makerfield. Would you let him in your house?

I have just heard some of the vile misogynist comments that this plumber has posted on social media. His comments about Carol Vorderman were just disgusting. I wouldn't want him in my house to mend the toilet, yet Reform are hoping to get him in the House of Commons to represent the people of Makerfield. What does this tell you about Reform and would you vote for him?

You support shoplifting.

But there was zero uproar when Streetings tweets came out, and zero concern about whether the labour party supported misogyny by appointing him to a cabinet role.

Distraction from the issue.

You've confirmed that you support misogyny.

"Wes Streeting once said he would like to push the Mail columnist Jan Moir under a train.

Just demonstrates the calibre of a lot of politicians these days."

Billy Bragg has called it the Twitterisation of political discourse.

Not all though. For instance, I certainly can’t imagine Theresa May or Rishi Sunak stooping so low.

Nor Keir Starmer, to be honest.

I am an equal opportunist when it comes to misogyny. If people only suddenly call out misogyny when it suits their political beliefs I would never trust those people with fighting for e9nens rights.

Eh? I'd call that kind of comment out as misogyny whoever said it.

I was wondering: is there any proof that Kenyon was actually working as a plumber before registering his company three months ago? Or since?

Yes, it would be interesting to know. Apparently, his van seems unused and clean, as are the tools which he's allowed to be photographed. The van doesn't have any of his business details on the sides and back and he doesn't seem to have any presence as a plumber online or in trade directories. Maybe somebody could ask him to repair their boiler.

Danny Kruger was interviewed on R4 this morning, not sure who the interviewer was, I was only half listening while doing something else, but the interviewer was female and she absolutely skewered Kruger. She left him up the creek without a paddle.

The interviewer read out some of the emails this little piece of ordure, the ones fit to read, sent to Carol Vorderman. How any woman could bring herself to vote for this candidate after hearing those, I do not know and Danny Kruger did himself no favours. He was caught on the hop, hadn't been briefed and his defence of this candidate was disgusting.

Trouble is, the decent ones get tarred by the same brush. I now don’t trust any of them from any party . Here as well. A bunch of self seeking liars or so it seems. Gone are the days when we respected and supported our pollies.

Sorry, nanna, but I really don't know of any established politician who has made the same kind of vile comments.

It is worse to be honest. It is a threat.

I'm not sure which comment you refer to as worse.

You claim to care about "women's issues", so I assume that you think that vile misogynist comments are about pretty low. I can provide you with more, if you want.

I was appalled by what Danny Kruger said, giving me the impression that what Kenyon said was of no consequence.
He wouldn't get through my garden gate, let alone in the house.
I do wonder though if this will make any difference to the voters or will it be Reform or nothing.Look at Trump and his gang .

LizzieDrip Mon 25-May-26 10:18:15

Kenyon’s vile beliefs won’t make any difference to Reform supporters … they’re all in the same gang.

Farage knows this, which is why he’s not being removed as a candidate.

Those of us who are disgusted by Kenyon are woke snowflakes in their eyes.

Streeting has some lovely tweets about pushing women under trains.

Does that compare with smelling and licking out Carol Vorderman's ar$ehole?

Graphite Mon 25-May-26 10:03:07

I’ve thrown out two tradesman mid job when they starting voicing their vile and uninvited views on migrants. Kenyon would be the same, except now we know exactly what he’s like he wouldn’t even be considered for a job.

It isn’t only the misogyny, homophobia, conspiracy theories and calling for people to be waterboarded and hanged.

His behaviour during and after his 2024 GE election campaign was equally vile; taking any official communication, any news story, any political statement, and running it through the immigration filter.

After he lost, he turned his attention to the Southport murders, spreading false and inflammatory information during the riots.

Did anyone hear Emma Barnett challenge Danny Kruger over Kenyon's tweets on R4Today? It was around 7:30. He claimed he didn’t know about them. He seems to think that public tweets are private banter.

Kenyon has already said he wants a privatised health system and a ban on abortion. Apparently women who ask for an abortion because they have become pregnant after rape are lying.

He is utterly, utterly abhorrent. I see that Reform are not letting him speak to the press, probably because if he opens his mouth they don’t know what might come out.

westendgirl Mon 25-May-26 09:56:05

I heard Danny Kruger excusing these foul comments on Today this a.m.Shame he couldn't come out and say outright that
Robert Kenyon had been removed from the contest.
Is this going to make any difference. ?

Tbf Magenta8 the Labour Party said the same about all the vile antisemitism tweeted by Naz Shah the Bradford MP, as in it was before she applied to become an MP.

This man's comments are still available on Wayback Machine. They're on a different scale from the stuff I've seen reported about other politicians (not that I excuse that either). I did link to them a few days ago.

His plumbing/heating(?) company was first registered in February of this year.

All I can find from Naz Shah are 2 old tweets criticizing Israel. One suggesting Israel being relocated to the US would solve the Middle East problems was inappropriate & upsetting, but she was suspended for it when it came to light years later and resigned from her PPS position. Not comparable with Reform's "that's alright then" attitude to Kenyon.
