Hmmm sounds like somebody has tipped them off. After all this time.

Innocent unless proved guilty?

He's so far been arrested. That's all.

The investigation was closed in 2018, but the arrest was made on Monday after new information reportedly came to light.

The Metropolitan Police detained the man on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.

A spokesman for the force said: “On Monday, 15 June, a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.

“He was taken to police custody, where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident on 5 May 2017, where a woman was pushed into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge in Putney. Inquiries continue.”

Thankfully police kept that case opened.
Absolutely horrific to watch behind open fingers!
I hope he gets a long stretch the
Arrogant sod.

The case was shut in 2018, apparently new evidence came to light.

Thanks Posters, for the updates

He’s not be ‘caught’.
He, along with (I think) 3 other men, are under consideration. Yet to be proven.

Millionaire more like? Can probably afford a good lawyer….

Plevey08 Mon 15-Jun-26 17:45:35

Oops I've just seen typo😊

Plevey08 Mon 15-Jun-26 17:43:57

Oh my God. I remember it now. It was horrific to hear about. Was he really a billionaire wanker and connected to royals?

ronib Mon 15-Jun-26 17:38:59

Looking at a YouTube clip of the incident, it seems that there was enough room for the pedestrian to walk and the runner to pass from the opposite direction.
A millionaire banker with Royal connections? Did this runner even look back to see what the consequences of his shove were? It doesn’t look as if he had registered that his actions had consequences.
I wonder how the Putney Pusher was identified?

Fallingstar Mon 15-Jun-26 17:37:27

I imagine it could be to do with CCTV images now being enhanced with new technology, or the nasty piece of work has boasted to somebody who reported this to the police.
Either way well done for collaring him and I hope they throw the book at him.

Cossy Mon 15-Jun-26 17:26:57

What an awful thing and thank goodness he’s been caught!

OldFrill Mon 15-Jun-26 17:20:35

A man has been arrested, he's not been proved he's the Putney Pusher.
He's not the first man to have been arrested.

MissAdventure Mon 15-Jun-26 16:49:43

At long last!
I'm amazedb that he's been caught, and pretty impressed, to be honest.

It was horrifying, that poor woman would have been a goner if it wasn't for the bus driver who managed to swerve, a hero for sure! It was galling to think the jogger had got away with it too, so hopefully some sort of resolution. Such a terrible thing to do shock

Sago Mon 15-Jun-26 16:32:32

Maremia

How did they identify him?

No reports yet as to how.

Great news, this entitled eejit has been found and arrested 9 years after he pushed a pedestrian under a bus.

“The 44-year-old has been detained nine years after a jogger allegedly shoved a woman into the path of an oncoming bus on Putney Bridge in west London on May 4, 2017.

CCTV footage of the incident appeared to show the runner, described as a white man in his 30s with brown eyes and short, brown hair, pushing the 33-year-old into the path of the Number 430 bus.

Oliver Salbris, the bus driver, managed to swerve and miss the woman’s head by inches, while the jogger ran on”.

I think he’s going to be in a lot of trouble, he deserves everything that coming to him.
