If only the Reform Leader wasn't the subject of ongoing political and legal scrutiny. If only his political conduct was better and he had more personal transparency. If only Farage wasn't so polarising and divisive. If only he was not so money grabbing and self serving. Perhaps he and Reform might be a more attractive voting option.

I can understand why Reform gains votes in local elections- for a change or a protest against current government? I have heard many posters say "Reform could not be any worse". However Reform does not secure a big vote share at GEs and has not done very well in by elections over the past 12 months.

As I'm not really sure what type of voter would vote Reform in a UK GE I googled for the demographics.

Various studies and sites came up with Education as the strongest predictor of voting behaviour in the UK with Reform drawing the vast majority of its support from working class voters and those with lower educational qualifications.

The National Centre for Social Research also claims educational experience is the primary driver also of the Uk's divide on immigration.

Frankly the type of person who threatens violence or enacts violence against politicians are the type of person who votes for Reform - so I don’t think Farage has anything to worry about.

Millions of decent, law-abiding people vote Reform. To imply they're the sort of people who threaten or commit violence is an unjustified smear. Disagree with the party's policies if you wish, but don't insult and stereotype its voters.

DH and I knew David Ames, anything and everything should be done to prevent another MP being attacked and god forbid murdered whilst going about their daily business.

I share your view foxie48. Farage organised a private' meeting at the Bank of England to try and block the BoE cryptocurrency plan that could be costly for Harborne- his generous £5million gift benefactor.

Farage sure likes to financial matters private and secret when the public deserve and should expect transparency- Nolan Principles.

IMO the £5million was to get Farage to stand as an MP so he could use his influence to promote the donor's crypto business. Which he has done. I'm sure there's also an understanding that if Farage becomes more powerful or needs money to keep building Reform, the money would keep rolling in to support him. With Farage, it's all about the money, just like our friend over the pond.

Farage has one rule/standard for himself to receive a £5million gift, others don't. He pretends to be more at threat of physical aggression than any other politician- but there is no factual basis for his claim. And some fall for it.....

How much of the 5 million has Farage spent on security? He becomes defensive and angry when questioned and replies he can spend it on whatever he likes. So not security otherwise he would have said so.

So your view is that calculating security risk is subjective and entirely based on the individual politician's personal feelings of threat not on objective facts or any kind of risk assessment.

In that case as long as all other. politicians say they feel as threatened as Farage says he feels they equally deserve a £5million gift from a political donor to spend on security if they so wish or on gambling, or a Ferrari.

You say None of us know what threats he has received or whether they were deemed serious you may not know but the police and security services definitely do know. Thats because every MP has a formal security risk assessment and access to state security based on the facts, threats. and risk factors.

Again it's a mystery why Farage views himself as so different and more special than other politicians.
