Mollygo
Very crafty.
10 PMs, but let’s only do 6 so we only have to mention Tories except for 1 -KS.
Not at all biased? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mind you, any larger number and you’d have to bring in Gordon Brown at the bottom, followed by Tony Blair, who I rated slightly better than GB.
It's a fact that of the 6 PMs in the last 10 years 5 were Tories Mollygo- not bias 😂. I could have gone back however many years but I decided to focus on the past 10 years- as Brexit changed the goal posts for every PM thereafter in the context of Vote Leave.
6th and worst PM Before I read Crace's article I would have rated Truss as the worst of the 6 PMs in the last 10 years. However now I place Cameron as the worst. He was entitled, careless and oblivious and unapologetic to the damage he caused by deciding to hold the Brexit referendum. The day after the vote he resigned to leave the chaos and devastation to his successor when just 6 weeks before he'd said he would stick around if Remain lost. Resigned because he was a coward in my opinion.
5th Worst PM Truss for me- SO much damage in her mini budget. I found her strange and with a bit of a screw loose. She had no option but to leave quickly
* 4th worst PM* Boris for me. Boris was so corrupt, dishonest, shallow, out for himself, lacked application and effort, egotistic, self serving, immoral and the worse possible kind of PM (not stable) to have in post during a pandemic- of which he failed to take early action or follow the science early on. Jokes and charm- but mostly just a buffoon. Much better placed as a panelist on HIGNFY than a PM! Boris left in disgrace.
3rd and 2nd worst PM Rishi Sunak and Tera May a toss up. I felt sorry for TM but she made an early mistake called a timetable for Brexit to be completed before negotiations had even began. I had not a clue what she meant by Brexit means Brexit She was very indecisive and lacked support from her cabinet. Rishi lost to Truss, but slipped into PM role after Truss caused havoc. He began the PM role at a very bad time after 12 years of austerity and the adverse impact of Brexit truly kicking in. His one big idea the Rwanda plan cost him £60 million but only 4 people went- and they went voluntarily for the dosh! I wonder what happened to them next?. His Rwanda plan was a disaster and he could see the writing on the wall and knew inside himself it could never work. So he decided to resign- in the pouring rain and had no energy left even to find an umbrella!
* Least worst PM* That places Starmer as the best of the 6- but not because he has been a great all round performer. He became PM at a bad time- now after 14 years of austerity with a deep black financial hole- though I just wish that was not his and RR's bleating repetitive message when they first arrived. Stretching out the hope just a little bit and not making his early mistakes would have been a better place to start. BUT- he has not been corrupt, has been honest, has not been a coward and did not wreak dire economic havoc in the style of Truss in a few short weeks. Plus he has performed well on the world stage- better than the previous 5. Chaos, market conditions, long years of austerity and Brexit have caused huge PM challenge for each successive PM since Cameron. Such challenges have grown in magnitude each time a new PM is elected. Starmer had some achievements and successes but too many U turns and some poor decisions- so a mixed bag. It is only as the result of his past predecessors failures he comes top. Resigned- for all the reasons I outlined in another post.
