Contact Refugees at Home there are other organisations also. This is not a new thing. I know someone who has offered accommodation to various refugees as they arrived in the UK for over 14 years. Support such as you mention ronib around the house and garden often offered and welcomed.

There are many that have good hearts and wish to support such refugees. I hope those that are less supportive and understanding are not seeking to disparage the views of those that support refugees or the support offered to those refugees arriving in the UK from terrible worn torn places in the world such as Sudan and Eritrea. That would be unpleasant.

That would be a good idea if you have a spare room. A lot of older people need help and a strong young man could be useful for heavy jobs and they would get a safe place to stay.

To put the record right you get £350 per month if you house one refugee or four

It doesn't matter that you aren't naming names people are aware of who you are targeting.

Why would I? I've spent a lifetime supporting, nurturing, being a full time carer, provider. I am now sick and old. I need to look after myself. Who will look after me?

Yes I do pre bombing & all the new infrastructure afterwards.
Use to be a treat shopping & going for a meal there.
I missed my bus once on a Sunday winter evening. I was frightened as it just seemed to be men hanging about.
I wouldn’t go there now as I wouldn’t feel safe.

We can’t deal or manage the influx we have.
Why encourage more? Doesn’t make sense to me plus we don’t have the necessary infrastructure to support more people at present.

I’d rather the government got cracking sorting out the huge backlog of asylum seekers already with us. Maybe by employing more teams of ‘processors’. That’d be a start. We obviously can’t keep up yet new arrivals rock up every day.

What a shambles.

Yes I’ve seen the state of Manchester. The smell of urine around that old Debenhams.
State of Piccadilly Gardens, it’s a disgrace.
Tents cities. Not just Manc, but Liverpool too.
Amount of homeless ( just our own).
So I don’t think things are going to improve when AB gets in.

It’s hilarious what excuses these do- gooders come up with, isn’t it.
I’ve seen them on their little ‘All migrants welcome’ marches being interviewed if they would offer accommodation. Every person the interviewer asked if they would home a migrant stuttered & stammered with an excuse why they couldn’t 😂 such hypocrisy.
One woman in France who did take in a migrant, ended up trashing her home.
She ended up sofa surfing at Friends homes as she couldn’t get him out 😂

My small town really has made Ukrainians welcome. There are just over 500 Ukrainian adults and even more children, which means that just over 4% of the population here is from Ukraine. The interviewer must have chosen the "wrong kind of" marcher.

I have no problem helping out the Ukrainians.
We have a family member who is married to a Ukrainian, lovely person who I get on well with.
Very similar views to our own.

If this is to happen the government will need to have a huge number of extra GPs, medical centres and hospitals etc up and running before they are allowed to enter this country. If not the waiting lists to see someone medically qualified will quadruple!

It’s news and not unpleasant. People have differing opinions and just because they do not align with yours does not make you right or better than anybody else.

Sudan is widely considered the most severe war torn country and the world's largest humanitarian crisis and Eritrea threatens to merge with the already devastating civil war in Sudan.

Well done mumofmadboys for taking Ukrainian refugees into your home 👏 and offering support. There will be those that come forward similarly to help refugees that come from Eritrea and Sudan in this proposed scheme.

I look forward to hearing of the experiences of people who are constantly telling us how to behave towards migrants, and who obviously will be first on the list to offer residence in their own homes.
