I think the good people of Clacton knew who they voted for and why.
Like most other English seaside towns and cities, Clacton has pockets of deprivation, it also has issues around seasonal work and unemployment, however, in common with other seaside towns and cities, it has areas of wealth, some huge houses, great restaurants, good cafes, golf clubs, sailing clubs, tennis clubs.
My overall feeling is that the people living in Farage’s constituency deserve an MP who serves them properly, not a gameplaying millionaire.
Farage’s predecessor, Giles Watling, ran surgeries, he even rented a tour bus and did mobile surgeries, he attended local events, he lived locally, he knew all the areas well, he oversaw the opening of a £2.2m GP super-surgery and turned up in the HoC to vote and lobby.
I think these people deserve better.
Btw, I don’t stalk these areas or people, I have a very long standing friend, who now lives in Frinton, but previously lived in Clacton where her husband was a senior GP partner in a local surgery. I stayed and visited her both in Clacton and Frinton, and know both these areas well.
