breaking news on the BBC news site that they are investigating her death.
I didn't always agree with her opinions of her politics but would hate that her death had been tragic .RIP.

I've a question.
Did the police bring him back down to Exeter for questioning, 5 hours away? When did the actual custody time start?

MissAdventure Mon 13-Jul-26 01:34:07

I've just seen the cctv of the man being held, as he (apparently) started his journey to Ann's village. 257 miles away.

Who are these Queen Bees you say? Well you tell us? It’s a total nonsense and figment of the imagination.
Each poster has their own opinion and there’s no bullying on here.

Just read your reply to me. Why should I tell you who the Queen bees are? I don't know myself. I stated that quite clearly. Bullying is not a figment of the imagination it goes on everywhere "Greyfur expressed a opinion and got jumped on. Another poster mentioned Queenbees.
That said this thread is about Ann, a woman I respected and enjoyed listening too.

MissAdventure Sun 12-Jul-26 22:19:34

Exactly.
When I read it, I dismissed it as a load of rubbish, and I can't still get my head around it.

Galaxy Sun 12-Jul-26 22:07:26

I just can't understand any of this really. It is beyond horrible but also utterly bizarre.

That really does sound premedidated and targeted.

Yes it does. Why would anybody drive 270 miles taking a weapon with them without a motive? If he’s a loner who sits at home maybe on a computer or watching TV and hearing stuff like ”Reform are the greatest threat to the UK” then it may just tip him over the edge.

If he’s a loner who sits at home maybe on a computer or watching TV and hearing stuff like ”Reform are the greatest threat to the UK” then it may just tip him over the edge.

That is speculation.

If you wander around social media sites you will find that most political parties have been deemed to be the "greatest thread to the UK" by someone, at some point.

Perhaps the greatest threat comes from those who so easily get "tipped over the edge"?

MissAdventure Sun 12-Jul-26 22:02:55

The 28 year old is still being held by police, who say there is nothing to suggest it's politically motivated.

I don't think that's speculation I think it is empathy.

Exactly.

I have quietly hoped she was unaware and taken by surprise with no time to feel fear. That's not speculation, it's a human response to a horrible event, one where you hope the victim didn't suffer.

That has been mentioned upthread, the university where he works have released a statement that they are investigating his comments.

The person who posted this is transgender, who now identifies as female, but biologically male.

It's about time online "warriors" fsce repercussions.

I think so too

sazz1 Sun 12-Jul-26 21:40:01

MissAdventure I agree.

The thread is following the information released about the murder investigation, though MissA, which is factual. I just think that when somebody has been murdered or has disappeared, we should not speculate about their feelings because that hurts people close to them. Maybe I’m wrong, but my head goes back to the impact on Nicola Bulley’s husband and children of the speculation about exactly what happened to her.

Foul woman.
I do hope she faces some sort of comeback for that.
Its repulsive!

sazz1 Sun 12-Jul-26 21:12:44

I've just read the most disgusting comments online from a Scottish IT university worker.
She wrote on her social media
Some good news. I hope she had a painful death. I hope she was handcuffed to the bed and died screaming in agony.
I'm so disgusted with the person who wrote this. Ĥer friends and family will see it as it's in multiple online news sites. My husband has met Ann a few times when he was at work and said she was a very nice, pleasant lady to talk to.
The woman who wrote this hate speech should be prosecuted imo. Whether you agreed with Ann's politics or not when someone has died you should show respect.
It's shocking.

MissAdventure Sun 12-Jul-26 21:08:06

Oh well, thats another thread that's pointless then.
Until anybody knows anything as fact, its all speculation.

I don't think that's speculation I think it is empathy.

No, at this stage it is definitely speculation. Being murdered is horrific, and I’m sure everybody feels empathy for her meeting her end that way. I hate speculation about the manner of death and how she felt, without the facts, though, sorry but I think it’s intrusive.

Casdon Sun 12-Jul-26 20:57:45

So you know that she wasn’t taken unaware by being hit from behind and knocked out. How you know that, I don’t know. By all means you stick to your guns - and I’ll stick to mine, in the light of what I’ve learned about the danger of speculating about the manner of death. Once we are told, we will know.

Galaxy Sun 12-Jul-26 20:56:13

Oh please ladies. Can we just wait and see exactly what the police and coroner say.

Speculation is useful.

Yes, the situation itself is scary.

Let’s just not keep jumping on each others every word. It’s not healthy.

Please thanks

Goodnight one and all thanks

I think you should practice what you preach…

Shinamae Sun 12-Jul-26 20:52:41

Yes I do Shinamae, until we know what happened exactly. I think it’s wrong to speculate at all about the manner of her death without the facts, it’s hurtful to the family who must already be thinking up all sorts of scenarios. The Nicola Bulley case brought that home to me in technicolour.

I’m not speculating about the manner of her death. I’m saying that she must’ve been absolutely terrified and I stand by that……..
