Police believe that Anne Widdecombe was murdered

A cowardly attack. She was a feisty lady. so I hope she got some painful blows in on her attacker in return.

I just feel so very sad for her.

Someone has been arrested. What a dreadfully sad end. She must have been so frightened, poor lady. May she rest in peace.

I’m shocked. Even though I didn’t agree with her attitudes, nobody should die like that. Just awful.

I didn't share her politics but she was a great character I couldn't help but have a soft spot for her. Good grief she was 78 just a year older than myself. What a shocking thing to do.

What a dark turn of events.

Horrific. I hope they catch whoever did this, and soon.

What next really? Terribly sad.

I thought it strange she died so soon after being on an interview a couple of days ago. Now police are looking for a white male suspect who is dangerous. All parties are united in their condemnation of her murder. Shocking crime.

I never liked her or her views but at least she had the guts to say what she believed in and didn’t trim them to curry favour. This is an appalling act.
