Well said , Doodledog. I do believe that the determination of the media to oust Keir Starmer was at the root of the problem. It is as if the public were spoon fed with sound bites,over and over again.We shall never know what the end result of Keir Starmer's overall goal will be. I'm sorry he wasn't given the chance,
We know only too well the innate damage the media can do.
It’s largely thanks to the media, and some easily led public, which led to the Southport riots when Starmer came to power, damned if he did act, damned if he didn’t. He did act, swiftly, and was damned.
The media has very much spread and applauded the rhetoric of Farage, his links with GB, X and various other media outlet, including that owned by himself, has resulted in the explosion of Reform, very much due to exploitation of people’s perceived fears and anxieties around migration.
I do not wish to see either the freedom of investigative journalist curtailed, nor free speech, nor our right to peacefully protest.
However, what people need drummed firmly into their minds and to understand is that alongside these freedoms comes great responsibility.
Responsibility to act and report honestly and with integrity, responsibility to consider what one’s actions and speeches might “trigger” in all people and the consequences of such actions.
