Rachel Reeves and David Lammy have been sacked by Andy Burnham as the Prime Minister begins appointing his Cabinet.

You can imagine the invite - well, Donnie, next time you’re passing ……

If Trump visits it would be unprecedented wouldn’t it. Third time.

If Trump really has been invited to Manchester / well it made me laugh. There aren’t many Trump fans here 🤣
Sorry FGT no offence meant and none taken I hope

LK - also thought she might get something

Liz Kendall also returning to the backbenches. I thought she was quite good myself. Shame.

Andy Burnham has invited Donald Trump to visit Manchester.
😁

At least POTUS will not be on Sadiq Kahn’s patch 😹

Steve Reed, the Housing Secretary, has quit ahead of Andy Burnham announcing his Cabinet.

The former housing secretary, who has been in Cabinet since the 2024 general election, said he was proud he “acted with integrity at every step over the turbulent past few months”.

Writing to Andy Burnham, he said: “Keir Starmer showed loyalty to me by appointing me to his Cabinet. I make no apology for returning that loyalty”.

Oh NF is whingeing

On one of the comments it said Emily Thornberry might be replacing Lord Hermer, I d9nt know how true that might be.

I hope she gets something - I never understood why she didn’t in 2024 but she’s been a good select committee chair

Mr Lammy, who served as Sir Keir’s deputy, said he would not take up a ministerial post under Mr Burnham.

I’m glad Hermer has been sacked.
Another good move imo.

New appointments will be set this afternoon.

Loyalty is a mistake if you are ambitious.
I don't care who does what frankly, as we still have a Socialist Government who will tax to spend.

As the gaffer you expect your staff to be loyal -respectful staff normally transfer into new managers effectively

Loyalty is never a mistake.

I’m just impatient to hear who’s coming not who’s going - many of those are obvious - well DL, RR and LH were

Mamie

Sorry to see Peter Kyle go.

another good guy but made the mistake of remaining loyal to Keir.

Thank goodness Rachel has gone but we may get somebody worse. "Rich" pensioners like us are sitting ducks.

On what do you base that comment?

👏👏👏👏

Mamie

Sorry to see Peter Kyle go.

Me too - I thought he might have some role.

Now Lords Hermer and Timpson.

Lord Timpson resigned. He wasn’t asked to leave 😥
