A good start in my opinion.

LK - also thought she might get something

If Trump really has been invited to Manchester / well it made me laugh. There aren’t many Trump fans here 🤣
Sorry FGT no offence meant and none taken I hope

If Trump visits it would be unprecedented wouldn’t it. Third time.

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 16:52:04

You can imagine the invite - well, Donnie, next time you’re passing ……

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 16:52:43

There’s no way surely it’s a serious invite?

Thought of Liz Kendall as a potential party leader at one time.

Jo Stevens is out as Wales secretary as Andy Burnham’s Cabinet clearout continues.

None taken Iam
Friendships and family are more important than politics.
Sometimes we just need to agree to disagree. 😁

Andy Burnham has invited Donald Trump to visit Manchester.
😁

At least POTUS will not be on Sadiq Kahn’s patch 😹

I’ll put the kettle on. He’s teetotal. ☕️

Andy Burnham is considering whether to introduce rent controls in a cost-of-living support package.

The new Prime Minister will make a major announcement on the economy tomorrow, including how he will pay for the radical measures he is expected to introduce.

Mr Burnham said: “We are looking at measures that could make a difference this year. So we are looking at all of those things but we will make more announcements tomorrow. We’re just finalising the details.

Thank goodness Rachel has gone but we may get somebody worse. "Rich" pensioners like us are sitting ducks.

Are you really in the top 1% Charleygirl5, congratulations.

Where the changes in "land tax" are concerned and presuming a revenue neutral scheme then the best-known modelling suggests roughly:

70–75% better off
25–30% worse off

Again, congratulations if you have been one of the winners were land values are concerned.

John Healey, the former defence secretary, is waiting to enter Downing Street as Andy Burnham continues his reshuffle.

I hope AB keeps him in.

Silvershadow

Now Lords Hermer and Timpson.

Lord Timpson resigned. He wasn’t asked to leave 😥

Thanks for that correction. I'm not suprised.

Maybe one of the big ones - Foreign?

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 17:32:23

Getting exciting now - SM and EM arriving together

Boz

Loyalty is a mistake if you are ambitious.
I don't care who does what frankly, as we still have a Socialist Government who will tax to spend.

Governments of every political persuasion tax and spend; that's how they fund public services. The relevant question isn't whether there should be tax, but whether the overall system is fairer and more efficient. If a land value tax replaced existing taxes like council tax and stamp duty rather than increasing the total tax take, then it's a reform of how we tax, not necessarily more tax.

Hopefully he won't bring back half a brain cell Angela Rayner back.

What a rude stupid comment - and you’re going to be disappointed.

Perhaps we are looking at chancellor, home office and foreign office. But which one for which job?

SM - CX, JH - FO, EM - HO

Whitewavemark2 Mon 20-Jul-26 17:44:56

Yes thsts my thought

Tuliptree Mon 20-Jul-26 17:52:21

But maybe all the jobs are put into a hat and they draw them out

Whitewavemark2 Mon 20-Jul-26 17:57:14

I forgot defenceconfused

I thought they were all rather too faced, tbh. As Kemi put 400 knives in Keir’s back. ABs not taking any chances 😅
