Apparently M&S have collaborated with Anne Summers and are selling lacy crotchless thongs. Each to their own of course but I was surprised. 😳

And, as far as demographics go - my daughters all shop at M&S. I haven't asked to see the knickers though.

Loving this thread - just like the old days - mostly.

Grannygravy just how many parcels have you received from Ann Summers then?
😉

Now that would be telling…

We take our pelvic floors for granted, until they begin to show their age and workload
M and S period pants🌞

My GP advised going commando after repeated episodes of thrush. (pelvic floor exercises are essential)

Well, Saint Michael would have a fit! 😇

He sure would😂 he still wears vests with little holes in them tho…

I think, ahem! That one or two posters have forgotten this is meant to be an amusing thread not really about value for money or facts about M&S bra sizes.

Wonder what the mens crotchless boxers look like?

Not quite the same. grin

I went to an Ann Summers party with a friend who became a District Judge. I'm not sure why but it makes me smile.

😁

Somehow Marks &Spencers and Ann Summers don't seem to belong in the same sentence!

Years ago I was invited to an Ann Summers party. My husband wondered who Ann Summers was - was she a new friend, had new people moved into our road?
There was a lot of hilarity but I'm not sure how much money was spent.

Might be good if they stocked them in store, might get a lot more male customers!

It would be like the scene from Father Ted when the fathers ‘get lost’ in the lingerie department of a large department store! All pretending to each other that they ended up there by accident and couldn’t find their way out! Hilarious!

They aren't going to ogle in the shop - I said thevwebsite which reportedly had a huge surge looking at undies..

That was us!

It has FGT2 !
A good start to the morning!

I find that odd to be honest.

As Anne Summers and the other undies retailers have their own websites, so no need for men to go to M & S to see the limited range, when they can view the entire range elsewhere.

I can understand that M & S generated more clicks when the news came out, but there is no way to determine the gender/sex of those viewing.

Thank you for spotting the news about the latest range from M&S FGT2

It’s given us an hilarious, and most importantly, lighthearted thread !

Thank you! It’s been fun hasn’t it? 😁

The male customers are ogling them on the website.

Are they?

I have never seen male customers ogling outside Anne Summers, Victoria Secrets or Boux Avenue.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 03-Aug-26 09:29:17

I imagine this will be a boost for Anne Summers also.

Having a package from M & S or picking up a click & collect, is less embarrassing than an Anne Summers parcel delivery, even if it comes in neutral packaging.

Selling through M & S opens up an entirely new customer base.

They're not stocked on the racks in store.

I like the adverb used, Crotchless knickers are purely available online on the Mark and Spencer website! Nothing pure or vestal about it!

Might be good if they stocked them in store, might get a lot more male customers!

Now there's a point ☺️..... priceless publicity.

vegansrock Mon 03-Aug-26 09:03:49

I think their website nearly crashed with everyone looking at the undies! Not for me ( Step One bamboo for me especially the women's boxers) but each to their own and its good marketing for M and S.

It was an example Willow3!

Back to Oreos post. I wonder if people know how much bra sizes have changed? (More facts).

Bra sizing in the UK has changed over time, but not because the official UK sizing system itself has been fundamentally revised. Instead, several factors have made bra sizes appear different today than they did in the past.

The main reasons are:

Better fitting methods. Decades ago, many retailers used the "add 4 inches" (or sometimes "add 5") method to calculate band size. For example, someone with a 32-inch underbust might have been fitted into a 36 band. Today, most professional fitters use your actual snug underbust measurement, so that same person is more likely to wear a 32 band.

Cup size depends on band size. Cup letters are relative, not absolute. A 32D has a smaller cup volume than a 36D. If your band size changes, your cup letter usually changes too. For example, a person previously fitted as 36B might now be more accurately fitted as 32D, even though their breast volume hasn't changed.

Expanded size ranges. Many UK brands now offer sizes that were once difficult to find, such as 28 and 30 bands, and cups beyond G, H, J, K and higher. Years ago, people with these sizes were often fitted into less accurate "closest available" sizes.

Brand differences. There is still no single enforced sizing standard. A 34F from one manufacturer may fit differently from a 34F from another because of variations in design, materials, and manufacturing.

So if you wore, say, a 36C twenty or thirty years ago, you might now be fitted as something like a 32F or 34E without your body having changed significantly. That reflects changes in fitting practices more than changes in the sizing system itself.
