Have we all forgotten so soon that Anne Widdecombe (Reform UK supporter) was recently violently murdered in her own home by some nutter?

So much Farage hate going on. If voters don’t like him they’ll vote for an alternative candidate. He’s just another politician people - yet so many get their knickers in a twist over him.

Who wouldnt be, in his position.

If know a younger person who is gearing up to be an MP.
I dont think it has dawned on her family yet, that it isnt a job without potential danger nowadays.

I think so many on GN threads recently were saying ‘I hope Binface wins’. They weren’t moaning about the cost of this then, just hoping Farage got a bloody nose. Well he didn’t and I’m glad.

That anyone can stand is a democracy process and long may it continue.

He may consider them nobodies but they all won votes.

So Farage stepped down as MP for Clacton in order to force a by election in which he stood to be elected as MP for Clacton again, and he won against a bin.
Both Farage and Clacton deserve each other.

I suspect none of the above possible reasons are the right one.
Maybe we will all know in due course.

I think it’s high time the £500 a candidate has to put up in an election is raised much higher. Maybe £2,500? It would put an end to the 30 or so ‘vanity’ or comedic candidates vying for their 15 minutes of fame tgat this by election generated.

No idea, I am not a Reform supporter.

I do think it was petty of the other main parties to not put forward candidates in this by-election, despite the entire thing being rather farcical.

I was not in the least surprised that Nigel Farage won.

Nor am I surprised at the way the voters of Clacton are being portrayed on GN.

We all have a chance at the ballot box in our own constituencies, it’s called democracy.

Deriding the decision of where voters put their X’s is neither clever nor nice.

Just a few inconsistencies here - the inquiry hasn’t reported yet and he was still their MP without this farce, So what exactly was the point? Oh yes wasting public money on a vanity project

I think it’s very amusing that the Farage haters are scrabbling around like rats in a bin looking for any scraps that they can use to discredit his resounding win. He won - just let it go. The people of Clacton have decided!

But what was the point?

He was already the MP for Clacton, not that he takes his role very seriously, and I suspect the good people of clacton would be a tad surprised about what he really thinks of them, but they seem happy enough with the second rate or even third rate service they are getting.

But that is what the poor in this country are having to put up with in their day to day life, so I suppose they expect no more.

They aren’t getting it either!

The whole episode has been a farce, it hasn't changed my opinion of Farage, he's a "spoiler" not taking government seriously and spoiling it for those that do.

I look forward to hearing about the improvements Farage is making to Clacton. The real improvements.

Less than 28% of the total electorate of 79,785 wanted Farage.

Let’s see what happens next. If he’s suspended for 10 days or more, then only 10% of the electorate need to sign a petition to trigger a recall and another by-election.

10% is 7,978. Count Binface won 9,455 votes. The momentum is there.

No surprise really. Count Binface was fun but not going to win as much as some gnetters were hoping he would.
