Apparently they flew from California to Birmingham. Seems sensible to me, the Cotswolds bring less than an hour's drive from BHX.

I don't know of any direct (nonstop) flights from California to Birmingham. That would be very easy for me when visiting.

Maybe it was a private flight? With the right aircraft you could do that.
