Trump Just Can't Help Himself, Can He?

Now saying he's glad The Sussex's are back in the UK and "I wouldn't have taken them back". Well, Donny, you are no gentleman and will never have a fraction of King Charles' dignity, graciousness and diplomacy.

Further, he went on to claim he had a good friendship with the late Queen.........well, she isn't here to give her views on that claim, now is she?

I'll always recall when he visited the UK and walked in front of HRH when they went to inspect the guard. The only protocol Trump observes is "me first, me second and me last!"

That's inspired, imaround! I believe a great number of his recent behaviours are related entirely to deflecting from the Epstein files.
It has been a successful strategy thus far.

The GOP convention is next week in Dallas. Someone hacked the webpage and redirected it to the Epstein files.

Bravo.

Yes it is heartening to read. The White House won't give detail on Trump approval ratings. Some Republicans are asking for him not to campaign in their district. They say they will support his achievements but he is too unpredictable. Yes the GOP is walking a delicate balance imaround.

Trump still has the power to frighten.
No-one wants to be the one who stands firm against him, among his Team.
Partly because they cannot trust anyone to back them up.

I was comparing it to here too Fallingstar. I don't hear the Democrats voice? I know Biden was gently kept in the background because of his cognitive decline and replaced with Harris. Surely there must be great concern re Trumps behaviours.

It seems positively negligent on an epic scale for Trump to continue unopposed by anyone.
Are they just giving him enough rope??
Where are all the political voices calling Trump to task?
I really don’t understand. And I think the rest of the world is watching this circus unfold and realising that the US can no longer be trusted as an ally on the world stage.

An interesting read if you are keen. Seems the GOP is walking a delicate balance.

Texas just voted to close 75% of polling locations in a largely Democrat stronghold. Voter suppression.

The House of representatives are allowing his continued unpredictability.

British Prime Ministers do not have the power that a US President has. They are not, of course, the Head of State and are accountable to Parliament.

What is the trigger/process for removing a world leader like Trump, who is clearly antagonistic, unstable and dangerously provocative and impetuous to worldwide peace?

This is a question I often ask, I mean if a British PM behaved similarly there would be nationwide outrage with all political parties demanding that he resigns, but if Trump did resign he would just be replaced by another menace like Vance. So what to do??

Calendargirl Fri 04-Sept-26 15:25:21

Whatever our opinions on Trump, he sums up H&M pretty well.

When asked if he had received an invitation to their wedding (he wasn’t on the guest list), he said he wasn’t aware of one, but he wished them luck, and added that he felt Harry would need it.

Never a truer word.

It’s about time the men (and women) in white coats came for him. Just think, this appalling creature has access to the nuclear codes and he has surrounded himself with sycophants.

Absolutely agree. Trump is insane

Plevey08 Thu 03-Sept-26 17:20:18

He does it to wind people up....and succeeds. It makes him feel relevant.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 03-Sept-26 14:11:11

It sounds as if he is getting rattled by the polls. Calling them fake.

These mid-terms are going to be interesting.

imaround Thu 03-Sept-26 13:58:09

He won't go away quietly. Neither will his cronies. Vance said recently that he doesn't mind the destruction of the world in his quest to forward Trump's agenda. Or something like that.

Thank goodness there are still moral and ethical people in the government who bring this info to the light.

He is ramping up the possibility of violence for the upcoming elections. I don't care what he says at this point, it doesn't make sense anyhow.

Armed ICE agents at polling centers. USPS has already said they won't deliver ballots by mail, which leaves Colorado, Washington, and one other, disenfranchised. Millions of votes. He knows he will lose, so he is preparing for violence, IMO.

Personally, I am preparing for a long period of civil unrest just in case. Food, water, medicines, etc.

Omg! That’s appalling and unthinkable of the USA many of us use to know and love.

Please god your fellow countrymen kick him to the gutter, where he belongs!

He can't help himself because he is mentally ill, but there are those around him who hopefully are not and could and should deal with this situation.

Of course he wouldn't have "taken them back" - he's a spiteful old man who appears to spend half the night ranting and raging on Truth Social against anyone who's attempted to hold him to account because his delicate ego cannot accept criticism, justified or not.

Not only does Charles have more dignity and graciousness, he's intellectually superior to this man-child who appears to only understand relationships in terms of a transactional 'deal'...

Anyway, who asked him for his opinion?

Why do we need to know what Trump ‘thinks’ about everything?

Tbh he really doesn’t seem to ‘think’ but I get what you are saying, however, I think it is essential that we are constantly reminded of how a democratic vote in a first world country has resulted in Trump, lest voters are tempted to make the same mistake.
