It's of course very sad. Tigers arguably one of the most beautiful mammals we share our world with. Nevertheless they're wild and dangerous. I am so glad it was not euthanised, that would be another tragedy to add to this one.

I agree with everything in your post. How could anyone make a joke out of this tragedy, let alone a world leader. Not that I would recognise him as one.

This beautiful tiger was sent to this zoo to hopefully mate with a female, on conservation grounds.

This poor young man was very disturbed and my heart goes out to his family.

Some onlookers filled the entire thing, then shared it online.

However, I must admit that my first thought and words to my DH were I really hope that the tiger is not euthanised, as it definitely was not its fault.

It is right that the tiger was not put down, it was acting as a wild animal normally would.
