I don’t know GrannyGravy I haven’t viewed any of them ….
I did view one statue (as I thought) on a slab in the aisle of a church in Russia, until I realised it was a real embalmed body and not a statue I was standing next too. Bit of a shock.

If you click on the link in the OP it is clearly that no body is visible

I have looked at the link, you cannot see his remains BlueBelle they are inside the sarcophagus, which is what visitors view.

How is this any different to the ornate coffins in poets corner St.Paul’s Cathedral or any other stone coffins in churches and cathedrals around the U.K. ?

Oh, I assumed that it was mummified remains. I have seen those in a museum - I was both fascinated and horrified by them as a child.

Actually every time his name is said he is being deeply revered and respected according to the ancient Egyptian religion .
It is by no means insulting or inappropriate.
Surely an Egyptologist would have told them this .

I actually don’t think human remains should be on show in museums Would you be comfortable with a great grandmother or someone from your family having their remains for everyone to gawp at
I agree it’s a bit late, and that’s an understatement, but times change and what’s accepted and what’s not changes too, thankfully little boys no longer go up chimneys.

Saying they ve removed it as they don’t have permission is totally, totally daft, but removing it out of respect fits for me

It does seem a bit odd, but I can see how the thinking works. Being put on public display for years on end is not what everyone would be comfortable with, and I don't know that time diminishes that.

It does feel a bit of an overreaction though.

As I intend to be interred in a country churchyard, who do I register my consent with to say that if they excavate me in 2,000 years time I am willing to be put on display in a museum?
