Pardon? Did someone say something?!

j08 Tue 04-Jun-13 11:53:51

Ooh! He was a nice looking choir man!

j08 Tue 04-Jun-13 11:55:28

And here comes the bump. Followed by the Duchess. smile

The Queen looks tired - until she smiles that smile. sunshine

Maybe no one is answering because they are watching.
No, I'm not watching, got better things to do.

I missed it j08 but will catch the highlights at some stage, even after your commentary smile What a beautiful day for it, London will look wonderful yet again - boost for the tourist industry hopefully.

I watched it Jingle and like you really enjoyed it. Particularly liked the way William and Harry walked up the aisle each side of Kate - she is one lucky girl.

I do think the Duke of Edinburgh is looking in a poor way though - I think there is more the matter with him than they are letting on. Queenie looked lovely - she has a timeless beauty and I was pleased to see all her grandchildren there (apart from little James Wessex)

Thanks for the commentary, jingle. I missed it because DH had to go for a blood test but you have painted a vivid picture. I did catch a little bit on the lunchtime news. Glad the D of Ed has recovered. smile

Just saw this tweeted by a Telegraph journo:

"One big difference since Coronation 60 yrs ago. Westminster scholars shout, Vivat Regina! Today, they are all Chinese."

shock Can't say I noticed! hmm Honestly! Some people!

Agree about the Duke of Edinburgh Gagagran. And thought the same as you about lucky Kate. grin

Btw my commentary was cut short because I trod on the control panel and the telly went funny.

I enjoyed it. I didn't intend to watch but after the first few minutes, I changed my mind. I thought seeing Her Maj, Charles and Katherine with baby on board all in a row was quite moving. I was pleased to see there were some non-Anglo choristers and Westminster Queen's scholars. They do tend to stand out in the sea of otherwise pink faces at occasions like this.

I've recorded it and will watch tonight. I have also recorded the Coronation (remastered!) from the other night.

Crumbs! Just seen the D of E on the evening news. He doesn't look as though he's on this planet, poor chap. No doubt he would have been determined to support the Queen but maybe he needs to put his feet up and watch the telly with a glass of Sanatogen.

Did she fall asleep at one point? hmm

j08 Tue 04-Jun-13 19:13:14

shock She just might have been praying. Or reflecting. grin

Nah, she nodded off wink don't blame her.

matson Tue 04-Jun-13 19:32:20

en joyed your commentaryJO8 !!!!!!! I too love all the pomp and ceremony, the queen is a fantastic role model and has been a rock for this island.
God bless her and all who sail in hersmile!x

I begin to think these big ceremonial occasions are a bit much for such an elderly couple. After all the Queen isn't far off ninety. Obviously they had to do this one as it was celebrating her coronation but I'm sure most things could be covered by Charles or William.

Does anyone else think that Kate looks as if she's carrying a girl? [not that I'm an expert in these things].

ElliMary Wed 05-Jun-13 18:25:15

Did she have a do after 50 years? I can't remember it. Why bring the crown over when it wasn't thought necessary 10 0r 35 years ago.

I think she is in a decline and they trumped up this show to get her and her clan in the public eye again. And she doesn't have far to travel. It was her last do as she won't have one when she's 97.
