I have just been watching the news and apparently all of us (you)over 60's are having, looking or wanting great orgasmic sex. We (you) want to be seen as sexual beings. Problem is your not being careful and are getting all sorts of horrible sexually transmitted diseases. Are you really? shock

Probably Elegran will check next time (If I remember)

Elegran Fri 20-Jun-14 13:04:41

I thought it was the rush of blood to the head that comes from lying on your back with your feet in the air (as jings was thinking . . )

I am glowing at this very moment grin

Phew! I'm glad I only posted that on Gransnet! blush

Blame it on the newsletter. hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 19-Jun-14 18:42:56

I have always thought the "glow" comes from lying on your back with your feet in the air for ten minutes a little while.

Viagra, the landlord reckoned.

janerowena Wed 18-Jun-14 14:30:09

Also, I'm not at all surprised about more infections. A friend in her mid-50s has just been told to lay off sex with her new partner (so big complications there!) as she has an infection purely because the skin in her vagina is thinner now that she is older, as it is everywhere else. It got torn and so infection set in. That area is not a good place for fast healing, being warm and moist. (moist is my least favourite word and here I am using it twice!)

Just read the article. I wonder if interest is renewed once people have had a bit of a rest from family life and work. I know DBH is shattered, so sex has become less frequent - whereas I also know that my mother and stepfather in their late 70s, despite her broken back, have a very active sex life.

I really enjoy sex, but the companionship is more important to me. I wouldn't want anyone purely for sex, ever.

rosesarered Wed 18-Jun-14 14:23:29

Good grief!! shock I wonder what they were both 'on'?grin

janerowena Wed 18-Jun-14 14:11:32

No way, rosesarered grin Each time it happened it went on for ages, the first time I thought someone was trying to break the door down to the pub, the second woke DBH and he thought someone was trying to break into our room. Even our bed shook! It was a bit like an earthquake in your sleep. We were just not awake enough each time (too many glasses of red wine, plus a whisky in DBH's case) to work out what or where the sound and vibration was coming from.

I should have mentioned, he looked quite pleased with himself, as did she. No shame at all!

The landlord had been about to check for air in the plumbing, because DBH had complained!

rosesarered Wed 18-Jun-14 14:08:10

I could use a glow, but am coughing too much at the moment with this virus type thing.

rosesarered Wed 18-Jun-14 14:07:16

Dismiss them altogether? wink

rosesarered Wed 18-Jun-14 14:06:33

Quarter them!

rosesarered Wed 18-Jun-14 14:06:14

Jane Do you think the couple in question [who ruined your night's sleep] just turned over in bed a lot? That may have accounted for the headboard knocking against the wall [or not, as the case may be!]
The trouble with surveys [as someone on here did say] is that people out and out lie, or say what makes them look good.I would take those figures and half them.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 18-Jun-14 14:00:01

Although he has got very thin - thanks to that ridiculous 5.2 diet. Lost that gorgeous little bum. hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 18-Jun-14 13:58:36

I saw Philip Schofield at a fete the other day. He's 52. (!) Would you call that old? I could make an exception for him.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 18-Jun-14 13:56:57

I never see any old men in the street I'd want to go to bed with. Eurgh!

The whole thing sounds sleazy to me. Smacks of desperation.

Hi all, this is the link to the Channel 4 report in question.
Lots of interesting points raised if you have a few minutes and want to see what all the fuss is about!

Thank you Pitt smile

Pittcity Wed 18-Jun-14 08:16:04

Kitty it's Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm no-one can agree which! Most companies make one so they are all prices. They come in different shades too.

Agus Wed 18-Jun-14 07:48:04

Bobbie Brown(sp)? Possibly Kitty grin
