We met on Valentine's Day so it's always been a special day. We exchange small gifts and I even got roses ( from Lidl) yesterday. We bought cards in Poundland and 99p store. We went out for dinner with the 'other' grandparents and noticed that everyone in the restaurant was in fours or groups. No loved- up couples.

Valentine's Day comes in February, a very miserable month up here in the northern hemisphere. I love occasions which brighten up the cold, grey winter. So yes, in my 'any excuse for a party' mood I usually celebrate it, cook OH a 'full English' and he, bless him, buys one of those meals for £20 from M&S that you can pop in the oven, complete with chocolates and red roses.

I was at a pottery class and saw the date and then realised it was Valentines Day. So no, I hadn't thought about it. Happy belated Valentines Day Michael. flowers smile

Don't even remember having a valentine except when in last relationship, and only once or twice.
Never as a surprise from unknown, I would have liked that.
Anyway all too commercial now.............!

Does it mean anything to older ones today, is the novelty bit worn off to just memories
