My husband of nearly 40 years has left me for someone 17 years younger than him. He is 63 she is 45. We have grandchildren, she has no ex husband or children. It has completely devasted me, 6 months down the road I am in as much pain as the day it happened. I have ended up being treated for pyschosis and severe depression.
He tells me he loves her and is in it for the long haul.
How do I get through this. I am lonely & miss him dreadfully. I want him to come home.

Oh dear, I am really sorry I seem to have caused a bit of tension.
I haven't been around because I was at the hospital yesterday and the Dr this morning, not as dramatic as it sounds.

Nobody has upset me, I told myself at the start of this road honesty was the best way forward.

Saw him again and ended in another row. I need to move on but it is so very hard.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my post & I am sorry if I caused any tension.

Just off with my little grandaughter shopping, back later smile

Could not have put it better,Soutra.

Soutra Thu 05-Mar-15 23:31:26

The Scottish exhortation to "Awa an' bile yer heid" seems particulately apposite somehow.hmm

Ana Thu 05-Mar-15 22:54:21

That you know what I meant.

Soutra Thu 05-Mar-15 22:49:46

What point would that be?

Ana Thu 05-Mar-15 22:48:34

You know what I meant, and the fact that you're being so defensive proves my point.

Anya Thu 05-Mar-15 22:47:55

That's better.

Soutra Thu 05-Mar-15 22:46:17

Of course Dave.

Anya Thu 05-Mar-15 22:45:01

Calm down dear.

Soutra Thu 05-Mar-15 22:41:57

just answer the question please or don't lob unfounded accusations around.

Ana Thu 05-Mar-15 22:35:33

Rather an extreme reaction to my single post offering an explanation as to why Kacee might have gone AWOL, I'd have thought.

There was nothing at all sarcastic about my comment.

Soutra Thu 05-Mar-15 22:28:03

Listen, I don't know what you are hinting at, but I asked a perfectly civil question about the circumstances of Kacee's errant husband's fancy woman and suddenly I 'm getting snide remarks about "you two" frightening her off.
Please explain. Just tell me which posts you think might have done that. And if you can't then stop making sarky comments.
It seems some of us are barely allowed to open our mouth without somebody jumping down our throats.

Ana Thu 05-Mar-15 22:22:03

Hmm...'pot' and 'kettle' spring to mind, Soutra.

Soutra Thu 05-Mar-15 22:01:43

Oo-er Missus, which two Ana? Or is that just yet another excuse for a dig?

bee63 Thu 05-Mar-15 21:35:11

Ooh Clint Eastwood. Yummy smile

Grannyknot Thu 05-Mar-15 20:11:25

kacee has only been AWOL smile for a couple of days. She may just be busy.

bee63 my 63 year old sister in law is very happily married to an 83 year old who still picks up work as a Clint Eastwood look-a-like. Totally fanciable.

Ana Thu 05-Mar-15 20:01:25

Perhaps you two have frightened her off! confused

Anne58 Thu 05-Mar-15 19:59:41

I was just thinking the same thing Soutra

Kacee Doesn't seem to have posted on any other threads either? confused

Soutra Thu 05-Mar-15 17:50:41

How are things going Kacee? You seem to have dropped out of circulation?

Charleygirl Wed 04-Mar-15 22:28:27

bee63 that comment was totally unnecessary.

Soutra Wed 04-Mar-15 21:51:30

Are you still there kacee??

janerowena Wed 04-Mar-15 15:02:26

I am not much older then you, bee63 , a friend is your age and her OH is 70 and very fanciable indeed! Also not rich!

Kacee I can't lie to you, it is going to take ages to get over it, the hurt and rejection, I think he may be an extremely selfish man.

My own DBH is a good-looking man who looks younger than his years. There are always lots of females trying to chat him up. I would never try to steal another woman's OH, sadly there are many who would - and one almost did. I know it takes two, but I have been amazed to find out how many women seem to think nothing of trying to find something a bit better than what they have, and don't seem to care about the devastation they cause. I used to think it was all men chasing women, I have certainly had my eyes opened.

gillybob Wed 04-Mar-15 14:57:46

Exactly Eloethan. Not a very nice comment by bee63 and no need for it.

gillybob Wed 04-Mar-15 14:56:36

Whilst I am not prepared to discuss our sex life on an open forum I do find bee63's post quite insulting. I am 53 and very happily married to my DH who is 63...... and for the record I certainly didn't marry him for his money as he doesn't have any !

Eloethan Wed 04-Mar-15 14:09:42

bee63 I'm sure if a man said that the thought of having sex with a woman of 63 would "turn his stomach", a lot of women would find that insulting.

I'm sure that Kacee has all sorts of conflicting emotions but unless a marriage has been very unhappy or abusive, after 40 years it's easier said than done to just say "good riddance".
