When my now Son-in-law proposed to DD3 her sisters knew it was going to happen as he enlisted their help in choosing a ring and making sure it was the right size. He spoke to DH and I before the proposal which we thought was lovely in this day and age.

They were engaged in July last year, married in April this year and have a baby due in February.

Just after DD and now SIL had moved in together SIL organised a big party at home, nearly 70 people, only me, 1 of his friends and one of mine knew he intended going down on one knee, literally, and proposing marriage.

I was so nervous as I really never though of DD as being the marrying type.

Thankfully she said yes or it could all have been a bit embarrassing.
She really did not suspect a thing.

How embarrassed he would be if she said no!!

No, that's the point, she didn't.
It says so in the message.

Maybe she knew as well?

I was pleased to hear last night that a friend's DS has just got engaged.
What I found rather odd though is that his whole family knew he was planning it 8 mths ago !! I'm presuming it coincides with a birthday or some other event. I can't help thinking that if I was his fiancée I'd be miffed that everyone knew before he'd even asked me.
