No peace for the wicked!

I had a lovely Christmas day with my daughter and her family, and returned home late teatime with the expectation of watching 'Call the Midwife' and 'Downton Abbey' with feet up, and a glass of sherry and chocs to hand.
I should have known what would happen, 'cos it happens every evening - even at Christmas! The phone rang - and rang again. Why do my friends/acquaintances/colleagues think that my evenings should be devoted to listening to their gripes and problems, not just occasionally, but every bl***y night of the week, and especially when there's summat good on't telly?
I know I should be grateful that I have friends who feel they can turn to me with their troubles, but I can't help being a teensy weensy bit cheesed off with their lack of consideration at holiday times.
I'm sure I could stop this happening if I had the courage for confrontations, but I don't, so I thought I'd have a good old gripe on Gransnet and get it off my chest!
Thanks folks - I feel much better now. A very Merry Christmas to you all. smile

Take the phone of the hook, or if it's a mobile put it on silent.

Why has this been posted 7 times ?

I thought I was seeing things ?? lol

I would love to know why this posted itself seven times! It's so embarrassing, and there is no way of deleting the surplus posts. I clicked 'Control' and 'Enter' just once as prescribed, and BINGO! multiple postings. I've seen it happen to others as well - but not so many times. I put it down to having a weird effect on electrical equipment. It's my neurotic magnetic personality, I expect. smile
Sorry everyone!

Why has my previous post on here disappeared? I certainly did not write anything offensive (just suggested leaving the answerphone on instead!) All lost in Cyber Space I suppose! tchconfused

It wasn't me, CrazyMazy - after this, I wish it was possible to delete posts! You're absolutely right about the answerphone, tho' smile

If you do it again, you can report yourself and HQ will take off the extra threads. After all, they do not want to see it happen, either.

Thanks durhamjen, I didn't realise that could be done Sorted! smile

CrazyMazy love that name tchsmile I don't think I've 'seen' you before. If your new, welcome!

You may find your post on one of the duplicate threads. As mentioned above there are several but if you post on one it doesn't appear on the others.

Thanks for the tip ninathenana! I am 'newish' to GN. I have followed it for some time but as we had a quiet Christmas I took the opportunity to start joning in and posting comments. It has stopped me from going 'Crazy' this Christmas! tchsmile
