i met up with a friend for coffee yesterday - she's been single about 10 years now and when i gently suggested she give dating a go her reply was that she 'couldn't go back to that!' i asked her what and she meant and she said she'd had so many disastrous dates when she was younger, she'd been permanently put off! She told me a couple and i have to say they were rather hilarious!

I don't think I've had any, apart from hiding upstairs for a whole week when my 'boyfriend' came to call when i was 15. i think i'd decided i didn't like him very much but didn't have the guts to tell him! Anyoone else have any slightly more exciting ones?

I had one boy who arrived with chocolates on the first date. Much as I love chocolates, I thought it was bit much. But then it turned out they weren't for me but for my mother! He was otherwise alright but something in me riled against this over the top niceness.

Shrewd move to win over the mother first! Unless of course he had a thing for older women? grin Was your maiden name Robinson by any chance??

Oh Alea! There's a thought you'd never want to have of your mother! grin

My first boyfriend was creepy, wandering hands trouble and I couldn't get rid of him, he just kept turning up.
My dad thought he was ideal because he called my father 'Sir' ?, my mother thought he was a perfect gentleman....
Eventually he took the not so subtle hint and my parents were not pleased!

grin Alea

loopylou my father was the same with one or two of my boyfriends come to think of it - even better if they supported the same football team (which only happened once i think!!)
