He'll be back soon - with the dirty socks and undies!

I thought of you too Ruby and hoped you managed not to get too upset when DS left for University. I hope you enjoy some peace and quiet now and manage to recharge your batteries! You will miss him I am sure but he will be back before you know it! I bet he has a great time!

flowers I think this can be a difficult transition RubyLady for both of you. You'll may very well veer between relief that he's gone to empty nest syndrome of missing him. We're here to listen

MrBags went to Aberystwyth too, rl. He loved it there. I hope your son enjoys his time there too, and works hard. And relax smile

It's only a few weeks until C****** and then he'll be home again!

In the meantime, enjoy the peace and quiet

Well done gal.
How did you get some guy to come and empty some boxes
and now got him on the gardening!
Should I be worried ??
Lady Chatterly (sp?) and all that!

Been thinking about you Ruby, and wondering how it was all going. A new era for you both - think it will be a shock to the system for him! Take it easy, best wishes.

Well, he has gone. And I'm shattered, been up since 3am and not stopped all day yet. Deliveries. The furniture which should have come yesterday came today. I couldn't get it out of the boxes so had to phone a man I had never met. He came and within half an hour I had drove him mad! I kept adding on little jobs while he was here, grin. Flowers eventually came, post, Tesco, furniture man, tablets from chemist and saw a friend go by so had a word with him too. So sat in chaos now, furniture in, looks really good but off to bed for a nap in a minute and then I can watch some tele later and relax for a bit.

Ah yes, I have a son, don't I? grin He was in tears as he left, well, we both were, as expected really. It took them about 3 hours to get there (Aberystwyth) and then he unpacked his things while taking in his surroundings. He says it's a lovely place. I have spoke to him and told him to go and play with the others instead of playing on his computer on his own. Anyway, up to him now. He did sound ok though, even though I thought I had bought him a new duvet and it seems I didn't. [whoops]

Right now I feel good about it all. It's nice to be able to do my own thing without feeling guilty if I go for a sleep and not be around to chat to. Plus I haven't even been outside today and I've spoke to half a dozen people. The furniture man is coming back on Monday to do my garden for me too, so that will be good, getting organised again now. And my cleaner is back on board next week too.

Now, Strictly tonight, so off to bed for an hour. . .
