Does sex really keep your mind sharp?

Need a tip from you MissAdventure, would much rather just roll over and go to sleep these days!

The only way sex kept my mind working was trying to think up new excuses to avoid it!

This is an aside - a doctor friend (retired GP) is writing her memoirs and I'm reading the first draft ... in it she writes about a patient, an 86 year old woman who was still sexually active. I was like

If true, explains much,i was widowed forty years ago !

That should be know not now!!!

I could only do about 3 clues in the Times crossword today but Dh almost finished it

Does thinking about it a lot count (you have to do something when the fish aren't biting!) or does that not have the same effect?

Well I can do the Times crossword in under 5 minutes, answer all the questions on University Challenge and win every pub quiz within ten miles - are you wondering what I've been up to?

trisher I totally agree with you, there is little point spending so much money when we are more than happy as we are. It takes a lot to beat a good book.

Well, it's an interesting idea, and I am prepared to give it a go even more often now.....a win win situation.

Well I suppose I'd have to find someone to do it with first and I'd need new underwear and a spa treatment and new sheets and have to shift all the books around my bed. In fact I don't think I'll bother. Losing my marbles earlier is easier

I cant imagine having sex once a week will remind me what I am buying for Sunday Lunch whilst shopping in Morrisons

I suspect that it's all about being happy (mental and physical satisfaction and all) rather than the act per se. I will have a closer read of the article but I'm not sure how it would work otherwise. Seems a bit odd
