Ah, GA I remember those absences and the homecomings ?. They do indeed make the heart grow fonder. Now we are somewhat joined at the hip, and like kitty I relish the time alone when he goes off to football. I am quite excited about going away on Tuesday to join GS and his ma and pa on holiday in Cornwall. With everything he has planned for us to do, I think we will be quite excited to come home again for a rest!

I would feel like you GA but I could also feel like the posters who relish time alone. The football season is starting soon so will enjoy small pockets of having my house to myself.

We have a new grandson due in October, as I think GA has!

And our 11 year old grandson is starting senior school in September and his excitement is contagious. grin

I am really looking forward to being able to stop wearing this horrible aircast boot, have had it on for 7 weeks now, but hopefully should be off permanently by beginning of August ???

The 'something exciting going on' in our life right now is our new baby granddaughter. She was born a couple of weeks ago, by C-section. The worry and uncertainty that we all secretly felt prior to the delivery is gone, and it is so lovely to see this brand new family finding its feet. We have been so privileged too, seeing them all nearly every day since then, at the parents insistence. To say that we are all smitten would be an understatement smile

I've just had an offer on a house accepted! Since DH died in January the children have been anxious for me to move back from Cyprus to be nearer to them, so I have done it, Still waiting to be able to sell in Cyprus, as probate etc takes forever there and can't sell till everything is in my name, but so excited, lovely little house, will be perfect.

Yes, two weeks in August when it’ll be just me (and the dogs)

Can’t wait. Must tell the ‘children’ I don’t need (want) to be invited round for dinner or checked up on.

I just want to be alone

Just had a very exciting road trip with my DD1 in the US. She drove us over 2,000 miles and I saw places I had only dreamed of.

Next excitement will be Christmas cruise to the Canaries with Galen. ?

Thunderstorms are predicted this weekend, after two months of drought I am getting quite excited at the prospect of not having to use the watering can much longer!

Mine's the opposite - my DH was due to go off for 10 days for a cycle trip, then had to have an emergency hernia operation a few days before. I had been so geared up to those 10 days on my own that I was devastated when he couldn't go. However he is recovering now and should be well enough to go on the next trip planned - albeit a shorter one - at the beginning of August.

I'm excited for DS2 and family - they're going on their first camping holiday soon. They stayed with us last weekend and I said they could "borrow" anything from our huge supply of camping equipment. DGD was really excited about sleeping in the tent (they tried it out for 2 nights in our garden) and she was very good. And - even more exciting - her first words to us when they arrived were "Mummy's got a baby in her tummy".

Minimoon You will not be disappointed. We have cruised there twice and are going a third time next winter. You will have a wonderful time. A cruise with all that entails plus the fjords . What more could you want.? No wonder you are excited. Have a lovely, lovely time. ?

It's 29 days until my first ever cruise! DH booked it last year, and it's nearly here. I have wanted to see the Norwegian Fjords since I was a girl. I'm beginning to get excited now.

...... or swinging from the chandeliers, but I am a little bit excited. You see The Wonderful Man has been off to Europe on another adventure involving a bicycle, a tent and a rather long absence, but he's due home in a few days (lands on Thursday, home on Friday to be exact) and I confess to being a tad thrilled at the prospect.

Who else has got something exciting going on or something to look forward to?
